hey, just wondering what you guys think the best grip is for deadlifts???, i.e. (dont know proper names, sorry) the alternate grip with right arm knuckled forward, left arm with palm facing forward, or with both arms facing forward?? is there any benefits to either, because i use the both palms forward grip and i tryed the alternate grip and found it easier, so what are the pros and cons to each, will this cause muscle imbalances??? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Well you would think that over-undering for an extended period of time would cause imbalances but I have no data to back it up so I really don't know.
I always warm-up to 120kg with overhand-grip and then over-under my work-sets alternating hands every set.Log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=175660541

Double overhand works your forearms more but when you get to heavier weights you will need to switch to one over one under. This grip helps you when your grip isn't strong enough to hold on to the weight through the entire lift. Called mix grip and it can cause a slight imbalance I. Your traps but not much. Generally warm up with double overhand untill you can't hold it and then switch to mixed.

I do it strictly with my arms facing forward
the over-under grip makes it easier but it's not needed until you deadlift very heavy weights.. maybe 300+
Even then I'd probably stick with arms facing forward
When you deadlift your elbows are supposed to be locked so your biceps don't tear during the lift
When you use an over-under grip you put one of your biceps at a vulnerable spot, it won't do much at low weights but at heavy weights it could tear the bicep
besides, once you do get to heavy ass weights then you could just straps
I'm paranoid about tearing a bicep so I'm never going to do an over under grip lol
