HI all
I am looking for guidance, I figured the boards are a good place.
So basically I'm super overweight. I built a home gym and have a hoist v3 and u90 powerblocks.
For cardio I have a century Bob heavy bag that I do rounds with for now, but going to get an elliptical.
Due to my schedule, right now 3x a week is all I can do, but in those 3 wees I've gone from 277 to 268.
I have a few questions.
What supplementation should I be on?
Most of my workouts are the last part of my day before bed. I usually just drink water during my workouts but I am wondering if I should eat something after my workout. I'd hate to eat just before bed but I wonder if I have the right thing, if it will help my body.
Thanks

Diet is key...seriously. Would be best for you to get your diet done and not work out than work out and half ass your diet. Not working out didn't make you fat, your diet did.
I eat basically the same thing everyday, have a 35 inch waist and only lift 3 times a week if I can since my personal life is in a transitional phase right now. But my diet is predicable, easy to buy and easy to stick to. Diet is the key,
But for supplements, Walmart brand caffeine pill, Olympic Labs AAKG, Purple Wraath...easy to push through any workout!

Supplements are optional, not necessary. Make sure you get all your necessary vitamins and minerals, and sufficient protein, carbs and fats. There's no secret, no mystery.
Whether or not you eat post workout is also optional. It's up to you, and how you feel. Everybody has a different system that works for them. As long as your daily totals are what they're supposed to be, the exact timing won't make much difference. It may or may not help you feel better, though, and if that helps with your motivation, then whatever it takes.
And 3x a week is just fine for what you're doing. Just make sure it's a full-body workout, and nothing gets neglected.“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

Get a good baseline for your current food intake, and maintain a solid caloric deficit. 500 Cals is a good starting point for the average person.
Do not try to estimate calories burned by training, and attempt to manage the deficit by thinking you can eat more. Keep the deficit by way of food, and enjoy the bonus Cals you lose from training.
