Alexander in my opinion. Even Caesar qried when he realised he'd never achieve as much.

    1.Julius Caesar
2.Napoléon Bonaparte (Very closely to Caesar)
    3.Alexander the Great

Caesar was the most complete of the three. He excelled at tactics, strategy, siege warfare, pursuing, administration, politics, etc. He made very few mistakes and he showed brilliance even in defeat, like at the siege of Dyrrhachium were his plan was very close to perfection, but he got unlucky. He was a remarkable leader of men and was very methodical.

I think that Napoleon made too many blunders to be acknowledge as Caesar's equal, like at the siege of Acre, his invasion of Russia, etc. I think that this is the only thing that makes him inferior to Caesar.

Alexander is overrated in my point of view. His opposition was weak and he had it much easier then Caesar and Napoleon who had to cut there way through to get military command while he simply inherited the army his father created. His administrations skills were basically non-existent.

    Valid point is valid srs

Caeser came from a wealthy family and partly bribed his way to the top of the strongest empire in the world.
Napoleon rose to power in France, though recent revolutions, it were still a sleeping giant.
Alexander took the tiny country of Macadonia, and made it larger than the Roman empire ever were.

    IMO:

Julius Caesar - Average tactician but extremely adept leader and powerful personality, all round genius
Napoleon - Best tactician of the three, born ahead of his time.
Alexander - The ideal soldier-general, army unlike anything the world had seen at the time

    Against each other:

    1)Napoleon
    2)Alexander
    3)Caesar

    Against their contemporaries:

    1)Alexander
    2)Caesar
    3)Napoleon

Exactly what I was going to post. Reps.

But let's not forget that both Caesar and Alexander were murdered at the peak of their accomplishments. I wonder just how much more they would've accomplished had they lived?

In on thread. have a greek history exam coming up.
Alexander inherited his Dad's army which was rapeworthy in itself. but he did with it more than was forseen.

First he was in Thrace, off to the East above the black sea when they reneged on their deal to follow Macedon as they said they only owed allegiance to Philip.
At this time, Thebes decided to get cocky and also reneged on their allegiance.

In the fastest time ever on horseback, he flew with his army on horseback in one week, around 1000 miles and sacked Thebes.
Thebes was raped, pillaged and completely buttfuked. Thebes was stronger than Sparta at this time, and the leading band of warriors in Greece.

    Edit :

Also Philip had failed on his venture to Turkey, whereas Alexander conquered every inch.
He was only limited by his army, that did not want to risk a lengthy campaign into India.
Alexander treated conquered territories with respect. So much so, that his own men were starting to hate his lack of conservatism.

    Edit 2:

Caesar barely fought. HE had a way with words and a will to be ruthless.
Napoleon was an angry powerful manlet, but he let his love life interfere too much.
