    Protein after workout

Alright, so I know that you're supposed to intake protein shortly after a workout. Does it matter if I do my lifting and then after the lifting do thirty minutes of cardio(mostly hills setting on an elliptical) and then have a protein shake when I get home (about 45-50 minutes after lifting) or should I be having the protein shake immediately after the lifting part of my workout?

there really is no anabolic window in which you will maximize your muscle growth

I'm a pretty firm believer that a solid post workout formula like ErgoGenix Aftermath or CL Gold Feast can go a long way in terms of reducing DOMS following a workout, though.

Just make sure you get enough protein everyday, timing doesn't matter.

Actually there is such a window, but it is more like a barn door, as it is open for 24-48 hours, not just 30 minutes.

OP, ingesting food/shake when you get home from the gym will be just fine.

Not the worst article, but still promotes pre-bed casein use. The truth is even a 24+ hour fast isn't that big of a deal if you end up consuming enough food/had consumed enough pre-fast

I honestly feel like I have recovered better with a casein shake at bedtime. I use it when I am at college and can't fit all my macros in.. but I usually try to get my casein from cottage cheese.
