Having read through this subforum just a bit it seems some here are a bit lost.

Here is my pro tip for you: for lunch, instead of eating a sandwich... eat half a sandwich. Eating at a caloric deficit = 100% chance of weight loss. If you lift heavy (and frequently), eat enough protein, EFA's and vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, and keep the caloric deficit reasonable... the vast majority of the weight you lose will be bodyfat, no matter the name, the glycemic index or even the colour of the foods you consume.

No need to pepper mine angus... anyone who makes a statement well known to be scientifically invald does not require being given any serious consideration. All the research, by all the experts (some of whom are mods on this forum and have graduate degrees in nutrition) confirm everything stated, and it has been repeatedly proven on this forum with study... after study.. after study. My reply will be simply to ask them if they believe the earth is flat and/or 6,000 years old.

Guys not to be stupid. But isnt too much of a caloric deficit gonna kill muscle mass and pump up cortisol levels in your blood? Im NOT arguing with anyone lol. Just asking a question. Because i feel like if i go into very much of a deficit i lose significant strength.

An excessive caloric deficit will cost you muscle mass yes... hince why I said "a reasonable caloric deficit", if you start venturing far from a 500 calorie deficit unless you have a fair amount of bodyfat to lose and know what you are doing, expect your desire for fast results to yield some undesirable effects.

People with diets consisting of mostly calorie dense foods won't have it so easy because the amount of food that will be left over is not satiating. Friend was eating around 3400 calories easy per day on trash food. We got him to clean his diet up and he's now having trouble hitting 2000 per day because he's not used to eating so much food!
