Agreed about the protein shakes. I still supplement because sometimes I don't actually feel like eating as much (well actually sometimes I'm lazy and don't feel like eating and whatnot). Good luck with the fatigue. For me I find when I'm feeling too tired (and also really cold) I need to increase a little bit and that usually helps me feel less tired and fickle.

Possibly. I have a habit of keeping the boxes of kitchen appliances, and when an item isn't for daily/frequent use I then wash and repackage it. Something I picked up to maximize space by tucking things away in a pantry or closet until needed, but apparently it also gives me to opportunity to forget about them if not used in a while.
If you haven't learned to already, blanch your vegetables and try different ways of seasoning or sauteing them. It really brings out the flavor, and gives you more options when paring a seemingly boring vegetable with a main dish. I experimented with broccoli because even when you mess up, it's not really messed up. Getting more vegetables in your diet is good. Since cooking them more have you noticed a drop in cravings for surgery and fatty foods?Hums the theme to Superman during planks and LYTPs. Now that you've read this, you will too.

Since cutting down on sugar when I was younger (from being scared of my doctor saying I was gonna become a walking diseased person bc of my weight) I stopped having cravings/a taste for super sugery items. now and again I'll eat something a little sweet but if it's too sweet (for my liking) I just chuck it. In terms of fatty food I suppose so. Thanks for the tip on different ways on cooking veggies. My family is vegan so we always cooked vegetables, it's just that once I was in charge of cooking my food instead of my mother I wasn't as strict to eat more vegetables as she was. I'm fine with just steaming it without any seasoning and chewing it up. Usually I use what I'm eating the vegetables with as a seasoning. Works pretty well for me.
About the cravings, normally cravings are usually centered around during my cycle >.> and it's usually just something like mac & cheese or pizza, something that makes me feel comfortable but in general I can keep cravings at bay (or I just guzzle a crazy ton of water).http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=159075431 << workout log.

Give it up.
You've been around longer than I have. lol
Oh, if you're vegan it's probably easy for you to stay away from sugar. The vegans I know tend to find foods with processed sugars (anything commercially packaged) to be too "sweet".
Asked about the cravings because I've been reading up on how eating a wide variety of vegetables can decrease the appetite for junk food. In the process of creating a eating plan with food exchanges, similar to what Hulse has in his Lean Hybrid Muscle program, and trying to avoid the pitfall of being too restrictive. There's a food cravings chart - found everywhere - that's giving me ideas on how to incorporate factors into my diet rather than supplementing with pills.
Btw, if you're interested in a good recipe for vegan persimmon bread, one can be found at FatFree Vegan Kitchen.

I think you can substitute other types of fruit if you want to try it out. I made it the last week of December and it tasted pretty good... considering it has been years since I've baked anything from scratch without supervision. But beware, your hand mixer will not be prepared for the consistency of that dough.Last edited by broad.stance; 01-07-2014 at 03:32 PM.

Hey guys. I am new here. From Ohio trying to sort of body build for the first time. I've put on about 10 lbs of muscle in the past 5 months and I'm really starting to take way better shape. I'm looking to make some friends on here and learn from people that are willing to talk about stuff. My personal goal is by the end of this year to hit 195 lbs without putting on a gut in the process. But anything added to my flat ass would be nice.

Cool link, I haven't had a persimmon in such a long time. And about the cravings, I've been exhibiting some in myself but i think it's really because I'm getting bored with eating vegetables the same way over and over. I've had subway, some cookies, a nice slice of pizza, some garlic knots (it was all awesome...well sorta awesome, the cookies were extremely sweet and I gagged, the subway was so-so, and another craving binge fest pretty much left me with a bathroom issue from friday night to saturday morning (it might have been the lavender kombucha I guzzled -.-)
Thanks! I'm excited but now trying to figure out that whole post graduation life thing with careers and whatnot.http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=159075431 << workout log.

Welcome to all the new posters in this thread
I think I may be intolerant to milk proteins because I get tummyaches every time I have dairy, including lactose-free stuff, and the pains disappear when I eliminate dairy from my diet. That sucks, because I found out a few years ago that I'm intolerant to gluten as well, and without milk and wheat I can't have what used to be some of my most favorite foods. On a positive note, after eliminating wheat from my diet a few years ago, my abdominal fat decreased and I finally got some ab definition that had eluded me for years previous. Still, I miss pizza and pasta. :/

The symptoms are similar, but the hypothesized mechanism is different. For gluten intolerance/sensitivity, the body views the gluten protein as an invader and fights it with inflammation both inside and outside the digestive tract. In celiac disease, the immune system doesn't mount a direct attack against gluten; instead, gluten ingestion triggers the immune system to attack your own tissue, particularly your intestinal lining. My sensitivity is not severe; I can tolerate small quantities of gluten. So one bite from a cookie won't affect me much, but a person with celiac will probably have a pronounced reaction.
