Sups and "Beast Mode"
OK so as a newbie is there a reason why I should spend the money on supplements or should I weight until I have a few lifts under my belt. I know what they are, but are they really necessary especially all the marketing ploys when trying to find a workout program.
Beast Mode- What is it? I have seen pics of guys with the caption before. I always assumed it was the adrenaline rush during and after a challenging workout.

Beast Mode is usually intended for guys (and occasionally girls) with obviously big or defined muscles and looking quite animalistic by pushing some heavy weights. It's also a state of mind. Ever get that feeling when you're in the zone at the gym and your mind-muscle connection is firing like DSL? That's it. I've had it a few times. It's fuarking awesome.
A lot of supplements are just hype. They are intended to aid in recovery and not much else. Protein, creatine, BCAAs are all most lifters need. The thing I like least about the treadmill is that I can't run from my farts. -- Source unknown

Had a good chest workout today with my WO partner....Nice to be getting my energy level back after the long Holiday layoff....The cruise seemed to help....got a ton of rest and had some good workouts on board, too...
Starting to plan a potential June cruise....possibly on the Oasis OTS, which just looks like an awesome ship!! Also trying to talk the WO partner and his wife to go with us...We would have a blast with them, and it would also be great to be able to continue our workouts on board....Chicago White Sox. 2005 World Series Champs!!

Glad to hear you're back at it. I've been on the sidelines with a shoulder problem for months. Got xrays & exam by a specialist on Friday and he said it looks like whatever the original problem was is gone and now it's a case of frozen shoulder due to disuse. Got MRI this morning to confirm & I start physical therapy tomorrow.
Have you ever been on Oasis or Allure? We did Atlantis on the Allure twice & it is truly amazing. Comedian Jim David does a joke that goes something like "That ship is a motherfokker! Wouldn't it be great if Royal Caribbean named it the Motherfokker of the Seas?"

Jerbs is buried under a lot of snow here in Rockford. Joy...
Snow is a lot like bills. As soon as you get rid of it, more arrives to fill the place and you go through it all again.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys - the Andrew Christian was on the Atlantis cruise. He was showing a new spring line of underwear and swimwear and, as our Princess would say, the fashion show was hot as balls. But there was a big debacle with getting the merchandise cleared through FTL and it never made it to the store on the ship. Andrew himself is cute as can be, but the only time I saw him all week was at the fashion show.
And our special guest star was Patti LuPone. Of course we got there early and hubby ran past the rest of the screaming queens when the doors opened to get us seats in the center of the front row.

All right boys, now watch how this is done. The key is to put it all in your groin and your back.
Take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion.

BUMP
& Great Gay Off Update.... Due to the continued incompitence of last years Pride orginisers their website with the years dates is still up and therefore giving misleading info out on this years London Pride Parade. The new orginisers have it pegged for June 29th - which makes much more sense but means me and Woody have a month less to get in shape for our near nude march through the city centre!
Dont tell Woody - tee hee.
xxxMAY I BE AS BEUTIFULL AS THOSE i DEEM TO BE.

Oh, I can imagine your frustration at having to finish in time for the event. Over here, the committee for the local Pride just decided on a venue WAY on the south side of town - a place I've never heard of, in all the years I lived here. And less than three months away, they still haven't planned their entertainment. So if they call on the opera company to perform, we'll have very little time to get ready. They'll probably say yay or nay with a month's notice if we're lucky. My shows have always been ****ty when I have just weeks to put something together, so I'm not looking forward to this one.
Meanwhile, Jerbs needs a spring tune-up. All that pizza and liquor I consumed with the taco chaser has made my face fat.The thing I like least about the treadmill is that I can't run from my farts. -- Source unknown

Anyone here have advice for dealing with gay/straight friendships? I've been working with this guy for 2 years and up until recently we've gotten a long really well. I'm his favorite employee in like 20 years, we've always been friendly. He's pretty affectionate especially with his gay friends. Early last year he used to flirt with me and give me high fives, smacks on the butt etc. Then he started giving me hugs and a kiss on the cheek. Then late last year he went from only kissing me on the cheek to a hug and kiss on the lips. He's told me he loves me like a dozen times and how much he appreciates me. That was until after Christmas. I gave him a very nice gift, and was worried it was too much. He seemed ok with it for about a month and his behavior didn't change. Starting in January, he got very withdrawn, awkward around me, stopped hugging/kissing me. Doesn't flirt anymore. He hasn't told me he loves me in over 2 months. Occasionally he will still give me a pat on the back or a hug. Last week he was really friendly with me and went to give me a handshake, but leaned in and hugged me instead and put his head on my shoulder and said goodnight babe. I've asked him if I did something wrong and he says no it's just his personality and if he doesn't get enough space he withdraws. I said I'm sorry for making him uncomfortable, and he said don't feel sorry. I've been giving him a lot more space over the past few weeks, but I'm so depressed and hurt over him seeming to not like me anymore. He means the world to me and I just can't put on a smile and pretend like it's not killing me. Some days he's really friendly, other days he won't talk to me.
The only thing I'm guessing is he's assuming I have feelings for him, but I would think he would have suspected that months ago before his behavior changed, and I'd think he'd be unphased by it. He's very flirty with gay guys. He used to genuinely seem to care about me, but now I'm not sure he does. I just want to be an important part of his life, but I don't think there is anything I can do to make that happen.
Any advice on not taking this so personally? Do I just leave him alone for awhile and see if things change? I'm kinda scared to talk to him about it thinking it will make it worse.

Well, where I work is an exception. We're in musical theatre. There is no professionalism. My friend grabs the crotches of gay guys he's known for years, and vice versa. I'm the only one he hasn't actually done it to. I made a remark to this other older gay guy we work with who got his crotched grabbed the other day, and I said "Wow, surprised he did that. He's never done that to me". This guy made a joke and said, "That's because you're the one he actually wants". It's just a very weird dynamic. He flirts more with the other gay guys, but up until recently seemed to be the most affectionate with me (I'm the only one he hugged/kissed all the time). It's just the fact that he doesn't do it much anymore and always seems awkward/shy around me, doesn't look me in the eye much etc. that is baffling. He either hates me, or loves me and doesn't know how to deal with it.
