No PreP for this guy. Costs $2400 a month. I'd rather be positive... (sarcasm)
Last weekend, a pair of leather daddies invited me to join them at Woof's in Madison. Met their friend Mark, and he asked me for a date. He's probably the oldest guy I've dated, but we definitely have chemistry, and he's got more kinks in him than Greg. So we're doing stuff on Saturday. Don't know if it will work out, but I'm through mourning my first love.
I've also decided something else. I'm going to educate myself and see if I can compete in a small leather/fetish show. I've been to a few, and it's really inspiring. There's a lot I have to learn about the people and myself, but there's plenty of time. I'm excited about it, and it's what I want to do. So yay!
And lastly, my opera is doing really well. We open in seven weeks with "Trial by Jury" and "Mikado", and my cast is quite strong. We've got fourteen people, and a good sound when we're all together. I'm excited about it.

Well, Phoenix Pride is this weekend. Yes, it is that early in the calendar year because it's Phoenix and we can't have that many outdoor events from May until October. For being in a horribly conservative state, the event is well attended. (And thankfully walking distance to my home!!)
Sadly, I did not get to the Brad Pitt in "Thelma & Louise" look I was hoping to achieve by this event. I'm pretty sure the only way I'm going to achieve that look is when my body is decomposing in the ground.
Jerbs: glad your opera is going along well!!!! Still sorry that your relationship did not turn out as you wanted, but give it time and the right person will come along.I am the only person responsible for making myself fat. I am the only person responsible for making myself un-fat.

I didn't go to the Phoenix Pride Festival this past weekend - I've been volunteering to set it up and also was manning a beverage booth in the Festival in previous years. But I went to the Phoenix Pride Parade on Sunday; it was also a lot of fun and very well attended - it lasted about 3 hours. Went to the most popular gay bar Sunday night and as expected, it was extremely crowded. It was obvious that people were packing the gyms in the previous weeks ... tank tops / muscle shirts (or shirtless) were the attire of choice during the weekend

Thank you. Right now, I'm seeing a new guy. His name is Mark, and we're doing okay. I got a lot more in common with him than I did with Greg. There's a great difference in our ages (he's 53, and I'm 35), but we enjoy each other's company. He's so crushing on me right now.
Sounds like a good time. Can't wait for Milwaukee and Chicago Prides. All that Midwest beef. The thing I like least about the treadmill is that I can't run from my farts. -- Source unknown

Wow, been almost a month and no updates. I think the mod really killed this off for good when it got moved. Oh well, maybe you're all still checking in and hiding behind the scenes.
Mark and I are officially in a relationship as of April 17th. We have lots of fun together. And he lets me be who I am.
My opera opens on the 13th. We're doing "Trial by Jury", and it's going well. Good cast, about as big as the "Pinafore" cast two years since.
I did a contest at Chicago Touche on Friday. "Leather Eye for the Preppy Guy". Winner got $500 of leather gear. I spent over $100 on the clothes and haircut, but didn't win. I'm not sure why. The prize went to a guy who made no effort to dress preppy and just wanted to try fisting. This is what I wore for the show.
WTF? I rotated this bastard correctly... GRRR....
Got my tickets for IML weekend. Mark and I are going to be there for four days. I hope I have enough stamina to get through it all and have a good time. The thing I like least about the treadmill is that I can't run from my farts. -- Source unknown

I have been fortunate to bury only one furry friend in my life. I guess you just mourn and then, when your heart is ready (you'll know when), you get another and love them as much as you did the earlier one(s). There's this quote that pops up occasionally on F*ckbook, a letter from the dying pet to the owner. Something about loving them enough to let them go when it's their time, and if you get another, the dying will rest easy, knowing that their place has been taken in caring for their hooman. It's all part of the grief process.

Really sorry to hear that bud. Losing an animal friend is so hard. Only time will be able to heal you fully. I went over a year after losing a dog before I could get another one. I felt like I was betraying my old pup by thinking about getting another one, which of course is total crap. I think you just have to realize that while the time together was short, it was a beautiful gift and you were both lucky to have found each other, but importantly it's ok to move on. Hang in there bud and just take it a day at a time. sending cyber hugs your way

I just got off the phone with atticus_a. We talked a bit about this thread so I thought I would check in and see if my password still worked. And it does! Jerbs, thanks for keeping the thread alive. Glad things are going well with Mark (they are still going well, right?) and that you're over Greg. He never let you be who you are, so he wasn't the one for you.
And hey ibimus! I see you once in a while on that other forum that we can't mention, but I only lurk over there and almost never post. Sorry about the pup. Nothing anyone says makes it any better - only time will help. It's been 6 years since we lost our last one and only recently did we acquire some new pets.
And speaking of "we," hubby is officially my hubby as of last November. Even after 24 years together, it's surprising how a piece of paper and a ceremony legitimizes a relationship.
Since I mentioned him, Atticus is doing well. He has a long term boyfriend and they are buying a house together. They are coming to FL for Gay Days, but we have a scheduling conflict and might not get to see them.
For those that don't know these names - don't worry. We'll fade back into oblivion soon enough.Last edited by LoL Rick; 05-27-2016 at 07:59 PM.

Well, well, look who crawled out of the woodwork! Good to see you again.
In answer to your question, Mark and I are doing okay. We are now living together for the summer. We spent four days (and $3k) at IML last weekend, and had a great time. We're doing the Leather & Fetish show at Milwaukee Pride next weekend.
My pastor found out I used to do porn. I am not in trouble, but she and I had a serious talk about such things.
My opera went well. Not a record-breaking show, but a good solid performance that we all enjoyed. The opera company's tenth anniversary is this October.
Conglaturation on your marriage! It's a big step, but it seems you guys have been ready for a long while.
I did not follow to F*ckbook with the others as you predicted. The one rock that kept this party going, lol. Maybe if you and the others checked in, we'd see a revival of this thread. I'd like that very much, for I miss our old conversations, even if we DID argue a bit.
