Why is this game going so seemingly unnoticed? I haven't seen any threads about it on the misc and only found out about it on the weekend! Looks awesome. Comes out in just over a month!
E3 Trailer
Gameplay preview
The night time gameplay adds a whole new element of creepiness and thrill/horror.
Combat
Top comment:
"You can climb on top of the drake.
And stab it in the face.
While it's flying.
Take my ****ing money."
^ My thoughts exactly
What is seemingly a key ingredient to the game is the Pawn system. Looks interesting and is a great concept.
Another review/impressions video. A little more info on the Pawn system
The only downside for me is that it doesn't look like it is being released on PC! But I will be more then happy to get this on 360.
A profile on Dragons (from the website):
"Dragons are creatures wreathed in mystery.
Though they have appeared a handful of times in the long history of the continent, it is still not clear how they are born or what brings them to attack men’s civilizations. The small amount of knowledge that has been gleaned from their sporadic attacks reveals little more than the facts that dragons possess dreadful power and are intelligent enough to understand human speech.
Dragons appear without warning, sometimes dozens, sometimes hundreds of years apart, bringing chaos in their wake and destroying men and nations without distinction.
Their actions are inhuman and atrocious, but given their high level of intelligence, it is hard to imagine that their violence is without purpose. Many times in the past have they brought the world to the edge of destruction, but they have never completely wiped out mankind.
In every age that they appear, the dragons commit a short-lived but ferocious assault upon the world. Then they cease their attack and alight atop a mountain or other visible location, as if waiting for something. Given these strange actions, it is possible to think that the dragons are fulfilling some sort of role or duty, serving some greater function in the world, yet at present there is simply not enough evidence to make any sort of theory about the dragons’ purpose.
It is also clear from past records that the number of monsters in the world seems to sharply increase around the time that a dragon appears. This could be nothing more than coincidence, but if it is somehow an effect of a dragon’s imminent appearance, then this would be another example of dragons’ peculiar place in the natural order of the world."
If you aren't hyped for this game after watching the videos I'd be very suprised! I can't be the only one

It's just random youtube vids, but is it just me or does it look better and more fun than Skyrim?
(something over 400 hours on the first Skyrim playthrough here, so I'm not just talking $h!t )
All you need to see I think:

Fo real.
Never played Monster Hunter. The "second hand Co-OP" actually looks really interesting. Direct multiplayer would be cool for some reasons, but I think it takes a lot of difficulty out of it sometimes. It's hard to get right. This is a new concept that could work.
I never saw it til recently. Look sick! Their marketing team should be sacked.
I never realisd it was the same month as D3. I haven't really bought into the hype of D3 yet. I was pumped for D3 when it was first announced, but I've been waiting so long now that I kinda got over it. I'm more excited for this rather then the hack n slash of D3.
What issues were they? I'm sure it has a difficulty level. But you can also make it as difficult as you want.. Depends what level Pawn you recruit when you're in trouble and need help getting through a section..
Co-OP.
The combat in whole looks amazing.

It definitely looks fun. Skyrim was super fun too. I think the replayability will be higher in Skyrim but figuring out how to defeat monsters, etc in this looks real fun.
Son...

Notsureifsrs.
IMO PC games/gamers lend themselves to a particular genre of gaming. Shooters and strategy games (e.g., WarCraft) and dungeon crawlers (e.g., Diablo) are typical "PC" games. Those games just feel wrong on a console. I also include sandbox games on that list.
On the other hand, sidescroller or adventure games like Uncharted or a Megaman I consider "console" games. Those games would be weird on a PC. Every genre of gaming falls somewhere on that spectrum. It's not that they CAN'T be for both consoles and PCs but it's weird when that happens. Like Dragon Age. That should've been a PC game and it is best on PC; it's serviceable on the console and still an amazing game but... it's a fish out of water on the console.
Could you imagine playing Megaman on the PC? That would be weird as fuk, Cuzz.
Just my opinion though.
