    Will this strategy work?

Okay ended my 19 yr bulk on 12-21-2015 I was 43 yrs old 6'1" and 240 lbs and never worked out in my whole life. I got my diet in check and started exercising, in the last 3 1/2 months I've lost 37 lbs I'm down from 240 lbs to 203 lbs as of today. I keep hearing about a plateau that I'm going to hit so I came up with this plan if or when it happens.

Plan: I'm going to up my caloric intake by 300 to 400 a day start lifting heavy and add some hiit cardio (not doing any cardio right now) I'm also going to add a third meal (only eat breakfast and supper now). I'm going to try this no matter what but would still like to hear others opinions and discuss. Thoughts???

My whole thing is, if you've still got fat to lose, and you're still dropping, why stop? Keep going, if you hit the plateau give it 3 weeks, see what happens, and then reevaluate if you continue to sit stagnant. There is a plateau, people hit it, but normally it's 3 weeks, and you see a big decrease that we affectionately refer to as the woosh. Just keep going, and worry about your plateau when you hit it.

If you haven't hit a plateau yet, why are you changing your routine unless you're running a significant deficit that leaves you hungry all the time? I've lost slowly over the past 2 years from about the same height/weight as you and eat 1 meal a day.

Never said I was changing anything yet. I said I have a plan in place if I hit a plateau and if I never hit one I will most likely use the same plan to try to build muscle. My primary focus has been getting this fat off my body, that focus is fixing to change to adding weight. I'm losing just over 10 lbs a month and have been for three months strait, believe me I'm not changing anything right now. (:

I exercise 3 to 4 days a week with a pair of 15 and 30 lb dumbbells along with push ups and pull ups.

The current plan is bad and the future plan is bad.

So when fat loss stalls, you're going to add more food? When you get cold do you turn up the air conditioning?
