Anyone stationed in Misawa, Japan? My brother is stationed there now. Also, thanks for your service.

Air force brahs, I have a question..
I spoke to my recruiter today and everything went great. He got a copy of my social security card, birth certificate, diploma, transcripts, etc. I had to leave his office to head to work but we scheduled for me to come back next week and well schedule me for MEPS. Only thing I forgot to inform him was the a situation when I was 16 years old I had a petty theft arrest. I did a "youth offender/first time offender" program that allowed the charges to be dropped and everything disappear (just had to write a letter of apology to the store). Only thing is I'm not sure if I should bring this up to him or not. Anybody have any advice? Thanks to anyone who has ever repped me. Cheers!

If everything was dropped like you say, and you were a minor back then, then there's no need to bring it up. But, if it was still on your record, they will be doing an FBI criminal check through AFCAF (i'm a unit security manager)... So if it is still on your records, when your clearance package is submitted, it will come up. You can go to the police station and just ask if they can pull up your records to see if it's still on there, just tell them why you need to know and they should help.

If it was dropped, you are in no trouble. As above said though, go down to the station and ask if you ahve anything on your records. (traffic tickets.. etc). Just to be sure.
GL brah! I went to Nashville MEPS and it was baller as fk. So much fun, Other MEPS suck from what I hear.I am here from the future, it's been 45 years. I tipped my professor and it developed towards groundbreaking research where we discovered the secret of time travel. I recovered my old account to recount the history of the golden age of memes and talk to you about progressing the human race.

This. I ran a 24:00 2 mile when I came in. I was smoking a pack a day and drinking 6 days a week with my friends pretty much up to the day before I left. When I graduated BMT I was running under 16:00 2 mile.
Don't hate guys
If you're going for a job that requires a TS I wouldn't worry about mentioning it. If you are going for a TS cleared job, full disclosure up front is key if you don't want to go to jail someday. A lot of the clearance is based on your character. If you can admit you made a mistake and maintain a clear record then you are good.

Sheppard sucks. Hopefully you'll be 21 by the time you're there though so you can get drunk at sarc park. Beware of wanna-be MTI's there called MTL's. Fun times.
Eat fuk tons of peanut butter cups and you'll be fine. You'll see what i mean when you get there. I got to the point where my breakfast was 3 yogurts and 10 peanut butter cups. But I heard you give your favorite producer

I would just go ahead and mention it to him. He will be a lot more chill about it than some of the people at MEPS processing. Also, what if you want to become an officer down the road and during the investigation, this misdemeanor pops up? From what I understand, the background checks for becoming an officer or getting a clearance will be a lot more thorough than the initial one to get into the Air Force. Might as well get it done so this isn't in the back of your head for years to come.
