I'm back again, with more questions:
-I scored well on my ASVAB, a 78 to be exact (fuking assembling objects section, how does it work? none of the practice tests i took prepared me for that lol). So with my test scores, I'm eligible for every position available in the air force. Here's my dilemma, I've worn glasses since 5th grade, what AFSC's could I be disqualified from if I don't do well on the vision parts of the MEPS physical, particularly depth perception?
-Will I be required to wear both contacts and glasses throughout the MEPS physical? I generally just wear my glasses, but I do have some contact lenses lying around, it's hard for me to put them on though.
-Can anyone shed some light on the "sensor operator" AFSC? This will most likely go on the top of my list of AFSC's, seems like a cool job. Any details would be appreciated, good, bad, ugly.
-Is anyone in the "1N631 Electronic System Security" AFSC? Details on that one would be greatly appreciated as well. Thinking about putting those two on the top of my list.
-Should I just go ahead and wipe all thoughts of going into a medical AFSC out of my mind? I over-heard the recruiter telling another applicant that he'd only seen 4 or 5 people within the past few years, go into a medical AFSC, or something like that. I understand that work is being contracted to civilian hospitals.
-Would you suggest going open electrical?
-Question for brahs who've recently enlisted: How long was the wait in the DEP?
Apologies for all the questions...

Thinking about going to air force as enlisted. I am smart and I can easily finish school but right now I just have no motivation to complete a degree in accounting. Besides I don't want to make my parents bust their asses so I can finish school with no debt. I just want to drop everything and try new things. So I went through pretty much all of the careers and picked out a couple that I thought are interesting.
contracting
logistics
loadmaster
cyber system
operations management
services specialist
financial management comptroller

contracting - lots of money, lots of 6 month deployments. i hope you're single.
logistics - no.
loadmaster - lots of money, lots of short (weeks) deployments. #1 job in AF, in my opinion.
cyber system - what i do now.... it's not bad, but it's not great. unless you're a computer geek, do something else.
operations management - ?
services specialist - you'll work at the gym cleaning equipment and folding towels, work at the dining facility cooking/serving food, working at billeting dealing with retirees all day, or working in the morgue. not a bad gig. you get paid the same as the rest of us.
financial management comptroller - everyone will hate you.
health services management - ?

Just throwing it out there. People aren't the same in the civilian world as the military. My main reason for wanting to get back in is because the vast majority of civilians in my age range(18-32-ish) are fuking retarded and have absolutely zero clue how chit really works.
CONS, not particularly. As long as you have the ASVAB scores.*Negged by Constitution hating *******s crew*

Looking for advice, for USAF OCS
Currently a college graduate (2.93 UD GPA / 2.58 TOTAL GPA)
I was ticketed for possession of marijuana (~3 years ago), but I went to an education class that dropped it from my record and spent a night in the drunk tank (~1.5 years ago)
Any advice or chances of me getting in OCS? I'm looking at Space and Missile Operations Officer or Intelligence Officer as my go to careers. I'm just worried that my GPA/past might mess things up for me.
Also any suggestions/info is greatly appreciated. He who lets the world, or his own portion of it, choose his plan of life for him, has no need of any other faculty than the ape-like one of imitation. He who chooses his plan for himself, employs all his faculties. He must use observation to see, reasoning and judgment to foresee, activity to gather materials for decision, discrimination to decide, and when he has decided, firmness and self-control to hold to his deliberate decision.

That feel when you have a lunch-in with your commander(O-5), and he brings up that on taxes if you make over 55k a year, you will pay 2% more than last year.
The lunch-in was E-5 and below..Soda free/Pork free

So when you guys come back from bootcamp do you just find a hotel right away and try to find a room for rent ASAP? I am all by myself. Can't rely on anyone else for help.
Also do they schedule for a moving company to come by and pick you belongings up once you got your base scheduled?
(P.S.) Is there anyway I can get in to do mamogams for the females in the AF? I'm willing to do it for free...;0

once you leave basic, you usually go straight to tech school. you won't need much while you're there.
after tech school, you go to your first actual duty station and that's when you can go back home and get your things. if a motorcycle is your primary mode of transportation, i'd rent a trailer to tow it to your base so you have room for other things. you're not going to be able to have furniture in the dorm room, but you can have a TV, computer, video game system, etc.
