    Ivanko Dumbbell Set?

    Hello all,

It's been a while since i've lurked on the Workout Forums, life's been hectic - but still drooling over this and that of course, working out from home- nothing has changed. I haven't added any new equipment save for a few plates and Lat Tower Attachments, anyway - locally I found this ad:

m selling my used set of Ivanko dumbbells and rack.

There are three pairs in the set - 90lbs, 95lbs and 100lbs. They are all screwed together but can be taken apart if you wanted the plates for other uses. The plates are all 7.5lbs.

    I'm wanting $300 OBO.

    You can contact me

    pics

The guy is asking $300.00 OBO, problem is, I don't get paid until end of month, told the guy if he hasn't sold them by then (not holding breath here) I may be interested. What do you all think of it? This IS Canada after all, and deals as such - or even the Ivanko brand are unheard of for the most part.

For Canada, it seems like a heck of a deal.

That's 570 lbs of weight. Here in the states, a good price is 50 cents a pound. And that's for some commonplace brand, not Ivanko.

Would you split the plates out to make lighter DBs? Or do you have movements in mind for 90, 95, and 100lb DBs?

(I think it's a better deal if you can use them as is and don't need to purchase extra handles, etc.)

Well for the moment, I would probably split them up a bit, only movements thus far I could see using them as is would be if I could work my way up to Flat Dumbell Presses, maybe One Arm Rows, or Dumbell Deadlifts and the latter.

Yeah the deal is pretty good for Canada, almost unheard of - like it's a practical joke, LOL. But I won't last I am sure, my fingers are crossed but i'm not a dreamer, if it sells before I can come up with the cash I won't be shocked; saddened but shocked. If only us humans didn't have to eat food and pay bills, all our money could go to weights and such.

Maybe add Farmer's Carries to that list too. I was doing them for a while with my fat handle IM dumbbells set to 95 lbs or 105 lbs - I just used whatever I finished with for DB bench press. The farmer's carries really worked my grip and I found it to be a good conditioning exercise too as my heart rate was way up after a carry. I'd let it come back down again and then pick up the DBs for another carry. I should probably restart them again. I had stopped because one of my wrists was hurting.

Farmers is a great idea as well, not sure why that never struck a chord as an idea, thanks.

I would rep you, but time doesn't seem to apply on re-charge, so if I spread I will rep for sure. You've sure gained alot, well deserved IMO. Thanks for your input, KBKB.
