Just applied to City of Sacramento Fire Department as a Fire Recruit. (Well really a couple weeks ago), waiting on snailmail confirmation got the email, been studying and working out. My nerves are wrecked, but I'm excited because it's actually one of the areas I want to work.

I didn't relocate but I know quite a few people who did. Certain parts of the country (especially Florida and California) are notoriously difficult when it comes to employment. There aren't many jobs to go around, and both of those states kinda do their own thing when it comes to certifications.Originally Posted by rlldawg

Anyone have any good practice tests for EMT? I've got the final exam for my refresher course this Thursday and National Registry written test soon after that and would like some good tests to use for studying.
Also, Phoenix Fire is going to have some openings very soon, heads up everyone!

I got to do some wildland firefighting last night on some mil shooting ranges. The machine gun tracers kept starting small fires so we'd have to stop and I'd take a detail down armed with flappers to put them out. It was pretty funny... I had no idea these things would work so well.
