The plane was originally going to head back to Haneda but as they lost hydraulic fluid they changed their vectors and were going to try and land at a nearby US Navy base instead. Once they lost all the hydraulic fluid, the plane sort of goes up and down and is nearly impossible to control. They managed to control it for a while using differential thrust but that only kept them in the air and left them with no way to really steer the plane. I was reading that they simulated the scenario with 4 other flight teams and none of the teams kept the plane in the air as long as the actual flight team did. The pilots did everything they humanly could.

Its not creepy is you lack empathy. Also:
About 12 minutes after takeoff, as the aircraft reached cruising altitude over Sagami Bay, the rear pressure bulkhead was torn open. The resulting explosive decompression tore the tailfin from the aircraft and severed all four of the aircraft's hydraulic systems. A photograph taken from the ground some time later confirmed that the vertical stabilizer was missing

They lost all hydraulics pressure bro.
You basically lose your flight controls.
They (flight controls) are all electrically controlled, but hydraulically actuated.
If you have No electrics, you can use mechanical backup for pitch and somewhat yawing, and probably or possibly land, but if u have no hydraulics you're fully screwed.
Good luck brah.
