My new reverse hyper loading pin. Not pretty but it works pretty good. Before I was just using a piece of chain to hold a plate or two. The new loading pin makes loading easy. It goes with my homemade reverse hyper attachment for my power rack.

Muk Yan Jong, aka Wooden Dummy
Started taking some Shaolin Kung Fu classes, and like you would expect from an equipment junky I immediately started looking at Wooden Dummies. Dang those things are like $600-$1000 depending on the option and finish. Mine = $120 of wood from lowes and it has taken a beating and held up! Arms are cut/shaped table legs, main post is two 6x8 boards, and the leg is well secured with 5in pre-drilled screws and 'L' brackets were added to the base and leg for extra support when kicking. Measurements for height are authentic Wing Chun measurements so it was done right. Added corded rope to the striking areas to save the knuckles. Toss a few olympic plates on the base, and here you have it...........

The latest addition to the gym is a heavy weight tree to use at the end of my leg press. It's made from 2x4, 3/16th tubing and the upright is drilled to allow the weight horns to go through the upright. Everything except the plastic end caps came from my scrap metal, so the cost was $12.
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

Not sure if this is the right place to post this? Thinking of building one of these. Opinions, is it worth it?
Thanks,

I thought I'd stop lurking and finally share my humble welding projects with you awesome builders. I started welding last July with youtube as my only teacher.
Started with a simple chalk stand for my home gym.
Then some of the girls at my local gym wanted something pink to call their own.
I built this deadlift jack without any plans. Just thought I'd try to make something out
of the 1"x1" .120 I had.
Then a little mini jack out of 1x1x.120

A nice weight tree I made for myself with the leftover 2x2x.120 stock from the deadlift jack
This is a belt tightener someone from my gym asked for.
And a fun circus hammer I wanted to make. I wanted it to be around 30lbs but with all the
scrap steel and sand I put in the head it was closer to 40lbs.

I wanted a knee wrap roller but couldn't find anything online so I thought I'd design my own.
prongs for the wraps
gear and ratcheting system I cut myself.
and the final product sitting in our gym getting constantly used.
The gears I cut don't seem to be holding up very well so I'll eventually have to rebuild it.

Another Wooden Dummy, becoming quite the enterprise with these! Apparently there are quite a few people in my area into martial arts and looking for a well made affordable wooden dummy. This one came out near perfect, added some red oak to the front instead of pine and gave it two coats of antique mahogany wood stain and poly. Almost sad to sell it, nice when things come together as planned

Been working on this the last few weeks.
A small workshop for my welding so I can build more equipment ..
Outside is 99% done, inside I'm halfway through drywalling then I will give it a plaster finish so its pretty much fireproof, will take a lot to set it on fire anyway lol.-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #4 -!!!---!!!-

That sounds about right, the cheapest ones I can find were on eBay and they were about $600 with shipping. I'm asking $300 and would go as low as $250. Each one cost me about $100 in materials and then labor. Fun little hobby, and it makes me a few extra bucks for future equipment purchases!
