    Front Squat Form Check

Gonna post this vid around places to see a form check. As you can see it's completely baby weight for my legs (165) but it absolutely murders my wrist tendons. Any suggestions on what to do on non-squat days to get it more flexible? Or any other form fixes. On the bright side it doesn't hurt my lower back or knee at all so as soon as I can get the wrist figured out these will def become my main squatting movement. Might give overheads a try eventually just for ****s and giggles.

Actually looks pretty good. I'm a big fan of the front squat too, as it really focuses on the quads. with that being said:
    1) when you unrack the weight, try not to stand there for 5-10 seconds. Get yourself set mentally before unracking and then go for it
    2) Try not to lock out your knees at the top of the rep. It can be hard on the joints as well as gives the muscles a little rest which is counter-productive to growth

Thats about all really. Like you said, your lower back and knees feel a lot better. And I'm going to assume that is vs regular back squat. Just be sure to do something for the hamstrings to create a nice balance, and I dont doubt that you are.

Form looks tight. Try not to snap your knees into lockout on the way up, just come up naturally.

I do front squats with cross grip simply because I cannot do clean grip. I've tried many times to do clean grip but I have wrist tendonitis which says no.

    Keep it up.

I'd suggest you watch the entire vid, but he addresses the wrist issue at about 5:30:

Thanks IW, you always have the coolest vids. Will watch.

And thanks to everyone else too. I'm glad the rest of the form looks good depth, arch, and angle wise.
