I'm a cook and not every restaurant staff do this to people's food. Even if a customer is being a dick and sending everything back I won't **** it up on purpose but I won't be putting a rush on it. Also, I hate tipping unless the waitress did her job WELL. If all they did was bring my food, no tip. If they are quick and make sure I get everything I want with no hassle, great tip. Simple

I'm only 17 so I have no experience with this, but I tip my favorite waiters/waitresses pretty well when I'm out with my girlfriend. Usually tip 15% then add on 3 or 4 bucks.

If it's a franchise, then I tip 15 and round down to the nearest dollar.




If they're ****ty (usually at a place like Denny's or IHOP) then I give them a ****ty tip.

I waited tables all through college and only saw one guy ever fuk with food. It was like 2 weeks after I started and he was pissed b/c some kid kept saying he looked like eminem (lolz), so he spit in his salad and covered it with dressing.

We had a ton of regulars and some were old and considered a couple singles a good tip, I always just worked hard to clear the table fast so I could get them out. Not worth getting a complaint for being rude, and lettuce be reality, you make a lot of money for not doing much, so I'm not going to mess with someones food over a few bucks.

When I go out I tip extremely well because I know the feeling and how annoying it is to not be tipped..Definatly when people take advantage of you and ask for every little thing..Either some people have no clue about resturaunts and think we are on some kind of hourly wage or they are just heartless.

Only thing ive really seen is when people send their steaks back cooks will just grab it with their dirty hands and throw it on the grill where all the other steaks are even if the one steak has been eatin off of

so basically i should be scared into tipping? yeah, no thanks. so what if somebody spits in the food? as long as you don't know about it, it won't hurt you. plus at any decent restaurant it'll be a hot chick that spits in your food. if you were making out with that chick you wouldnt mind swallowing her saliva. i forgot the exact statistic but we eat a number of spiders each year while we sleep but we don't notice so it doesnt bother us. i will not tip, waiters in my area get paid minimum $11.00 an hour for bringing food from the back to my table. i have worked much tougher job in my life for less money (not that i'm complaining but i believe you should get paid in proportion the the services you provide). i will tip my barber, however, because it takes real skill to cut hair. i would also tip the chef at a restaurant if i could, again its something that takes actual skill. people that carry a plate from the back to the front can gtfo.

If they're doing take out orders they're lower on the scale than servers.

Only good thing about that is they get paid more hourly.

It's different at every place but where I worked at the hostess got the to-go orders ready and it does take a little more work than you might think(preparing salads, dressings, soups, making sure food is hot and order was put in and came out correctly, utensils/napkins, bread ect ect) So I usually toss them around 10-15% if everything was right and the food is ready to go when I get there.

Love Australia because we don't have to tip for bull****. Youll only get a tip if u did something really special for someone.... Maybe....

we don't tip here because service people in australia get a WAGE THEY CAN LIVE OFF. in america they get like $2 an hour so they RELY on tips. this is why it absolutely ****s me to no end when service people here (aus) look at you funny when you don't tip. get a fukin clue.
