To be honest, it looks higher than 22 to me. I would not worry about the percentage, especially at this point, focus on losing the weight and on improving or maintaining strength.

how long will it realistically/sustainably take for me to hit 10%? I have went from 225 to 205 in 2 months so far, but still a long way to go. I had 155lbs @10% as a target by September/October, is that realistic given my results in the past 2 months?

It's possible with an extremely low carb diet, you'll feel like crap, loose muscle and gain it back very fast, but it's possible. It's much better to diet properly and loose weight gradually. About 2 lbs of weight loss a week is a good goal, however as you get closer to your target weight loss will slow down. Read the diet sections and get your macros right and then go for it. Best of luck.

Low carb won't particularly cause muscle loss (or be any quicker than a normal calorie deficit, apart from the initial water weight).

OP you should aim to lose about 1.5lb a week, so it should take around 33 weeks. Of course you may still need to bulk/cut again from that point.

I agree, a low carb diet in itself won't particularly cause muscle loss, but drastic and fast weight loss will, regardless of what diet is used to lose the weight. It's much better and healthier to lose the weight with a correct diet and excersize program.

just did some other online tests based on specific measurements and i'm in the high 20s on all of them, I guess I won't be relying on the bf% numbers from the scale anymore. will increasing my cardio to 45mins daily help me out or should I start doing HIIT cardio?

Also, is outdoor cardio any better than inside on the treadmill?

Diet is by far the most important part of dropping fat. Cardio will help but controlling what you eat is what is going to make or break your losses.

thats what i've experienced as well, the cardio thats helped me drop 2lbs/week has been very light (20-25 min daily, just to get myself used to not sitting around and doing nothing all day). but if I double that cardio time or take on more intense cardio, will it accelerate anything? My diet is fine, I almost never overeat and completely avoid "unhealthy" foods, is my only hope to just patiently wait for 8-12 months or will intense cardio help me get there in 5-6 months?

The measurements I take and plug in put me a lot lower than I am as well.

The ones I've tried say 25-30%, my scale says 36% which strangely probably more accurate.

I'm no pro, but the 30% looks more like 45-50% based on my observations of estimations. The 25% = 35-40%, and that 20% dude = 30%.

Again, my non-professional guess work, that's all.

I guess you're right, either way I won't be able to join a real gym until a month or so from now (currently work out at home with a old/weak treadmill that makes too much noise above 5mph, and few weights).

You think its worth getting a personal trainer to some extent? I don't have a problem with the money, I just want to know that it'll help me out before I try it

The odds of you getting a good trainer are low. For now you just need to concentrate on getting your food intake right. What's the plan?
A diet isn't punishment. A diet is a way to reward your body with the wholesome, nutritious food that it needs. Your body composition is a direct reflection of what you put in your mouth.

also, is it best if I just ignored/forget about lifting weights at all?

if i'm say 32% bf at 205, then I barely have any lean muscle mass to be lost, wouldnt it be better to worry about muscle mass after I've lost the majority of my fat weight?

I have no specific plan really, i've only been at it for 2 months. I was 160-170 4yrs ago, but still skinny fat and had a hanging stomach, the only changes I made in the past 4 years was overeating.

I still live with my parents so I eat what they make (usually chicken/fish/rice/etc), but I eat around 1800 calories per day (compared to 3k+ before i started losing weight).

Does it matter what I eat or will the continued 1800 calories get me there by the end of the year?

Best of luck.
A low carb diet has the same fat loss effects as any other diet.

    Dont spread bs.

If you enjoy low carb go for it. But dont do it cuz u think it iwll make u lose fat faster.

    Thank you.

Their "20" looks more like 22-25 to me.

    Their "25" is over 30%

Their "30" looks to be over 40.

Furthermore putting that "20" with the other 2 is kind of silly as the guy on the left clearly has a good base of muscle while the other two just look like untrained middle aged fat-dads.

I've recently turned 18, 5"10/5"11, 165 lbs & we have a REALLY similar body..even with all the stretch marks (or is that your mirror). What i don't understand is how can we look pretty much the same(i'm a bit bigger i think), but i'm less of a lower weight?

no its real stretch marks (which seems to be at the bottom of my long list of worries).

its probably the same shape. I'd be fairly small if I didn't overeat, 30% bf at 205 means that I don't have much muscle. I used to look like this (just a smaller/lighter) version of the same shape when I was 160-170, so I'll have to see if going below that will make any difference
