When the weekend began, I had no Ivanko weights but with some help from a crew member, I'm up to 755 lbs. I just need to find some 25 lb revolvers (around the NY tri state) now to be really happy with where I'm at. The 35's in the pic aren't rubber, they were powdercoated black by the previous owner. I am refurbishing all with the Rustoleum rosemary paint & primer.



I'm not sure if we are allowed to pick crew #'s but if we are I'd like to request #100. If not, I'll just take whatever.

So pretty sure i was able to get 4 om 45s tonight for 80. I say pretty sure because i dont pick them up til next weekend Because seller has to go out of state before I can get them. Pretty excited though as ivanko is rare around here.

I noticed this on the Ivanko web site:

Does anyone have any additional info about the bar? Or, better yet, actually used one?

I'm particularly interested in the aggressiveness of the knurl. Would love to have a bar with knurl similar to the OB-20kg (or more aggressive), but without the silly 3-ring pattern. Given it has IWF knurling, I'm guessing this won't be what I'm looking for, but thought I would check with this group to see if anyone had more info.

I've got an email into Ivanko, but haven't heard back (yet).

I haven't seen it but like you I doubt that the knurl is more aggressive since it's IWF. The old OB-84 and the early OB-20KG both have a fairly aggressive knurl and single rings. I found mine on Craigslist. I also have the bars with the "silly knurl". I like the "silly knurl" but I'm not a competitive lifter.

It's available here for $400 plus shipping which is about $200 (minus shipping) cheaper than the OB-20KG.

Thanks. Ironically, the bar I'm looking to replace is what I believe is an old OB-84 with single ring and (had) good knurl. I would love to find another. I just wish the 3-ring knurl had a little more space in the middle on the OB-20kg...

I can't say I gleaned a lot from that answer. Does materials mean lower grade steel?

The website says, "as usual the best steel." If I take that at face value, I assume they are referring to the sleeve design and knurl tooling & process.

I forget why, I think it was a very old and weathered set, but I painted some revolvers black/dk gray many years ago and thought they looked really good. At the time, I thought if my plates ever get too worn down decades later, I would just repaint them that color and be like new.

Yeah, I saw that as well. Hopefully, I'll get a response by early next week. I called yesterday and got voicemail. Will try again later today. I'm not in urgent need of a bar, but would like to rule the OBT in/out for consideration.

On a side note, I spoke with the Rep Fitness guys yesterday. Sound like they will have some new bars available in a couple of weeks. Will update the barbell thread once I've had a chance to check them out.

What do you guys know about these? I just picked them up today. I think I remember seeing a photo of these a while ago, but they are not too common over here. Shame about the 'Taiwan' on them but they are nicely made. The ends of the bars are stamped too.
