The house has a a Rane 57, but I always liked how much more complex of a set I can do with the Xone 4D, **** is just amazing. I guess I did learn the hard way though. And I feel you 100% on all those points, the last thing on my mind while doing a set is monitoring idiots.. apparently I need to re-prioritize lol

Right right, Rane are pretty much industry standard for most clubs, my only beef with them is I used to run Traktor and they're pretty much hardwired for Serato, but I mean to each his own, that's the reason I'd provide my own, and yeah, I still would take an Allen and Heath over a Rane, the Xone 4D is a SOLID ass mixer, sucks it had to go down like that.
Idk man, I know some places don't really have dedicated "booths" that are like raised or separated from the floor, just try to do as best a job you can from people hovering or entering, give em the "one minute" finger and tell them to wait for a free moment, **** if you have too it seems kinda gay but I've seen DJ's who have clipboards or "lists" (actually not a bad idea, fcks write down songs and never hear them lol just say you couldn't get to the whole list)
The other thing is I used to let my best friends "spliff star" for me and just hang out by or in the booth basically to help rile people up while I was working but also to handle drunk brahs and bitties and their requests, granted they weren't there the whole time but it was helpful when they were*Korea Krew* *MMMC*

Yeah regardless of what happens I'm gonna try to push for an extra security guy on staff responsible for the stage and booth.. Seems like they're a lot more concerned with keeping tabs on entrances and breaking up fights
When I was in 3rd grade I picked up a Razor & Tie compilation album that had all the hottest house and trance tracks from the UK on it because it had a cool cover. After I struck gold I started spending my money on electronic CDs cause this was back in the day of 56k internet and no easy way to download music. For my 15th birthday my parents bought me a Numark kit that had 2 turntables and a mixer in it with a few old-school tiesto, sasha and john digweed vinyls. I started collecting vinyl and kept DJing and around the time I went to college I started doing house parties, then got offered random gigs at clubs, then eventually a residency.Lift hard and take a multi, brah

One of my favorite songs ever. Very serious. Issue with tunes like that is the break is so fukin long the dancefloor gets bored. Sure you can hang a beat over it, but it kind of ruins it. This is why I can't spin any trance, no matter how much I love it. THe dancefloor can't handle the long builds. I'm pretty well stuck in top40sremix/mash / electro and a bit of house. Would love to play some Faithless. If I'm lucky I can mix some steve angello knas in there without losing all the fukkin college kids that jsut want to D-D-D-D-DROP THE BASS
Theres a CHildren bootleg I can't find, from Trance Arts and Colin James thats absolutely amazing as well.

I've found I can get away with trance at a rave where people really enjoy the music, but it moves a little too slow for a club. Realistically only like 25% of the crowd will know all the tracks you play, and the rest of them just want stuff to dance hard to and party. There is clubs that are known for trance, or Drum & Bass or whatever subgenre, but for your traditional club you have to keep changing things up or the dance floor gets bored.
also I tried my hardest to not swing at the guy, but I realized taking a shot at him and getting the club sued is a good way to ensure I never get hired again.. but the thought was def there.
You don't think the damage was permanent? I'd be stoked if it can be repaired if they refuse to replace it. I always thought an A/C adaptor + water was instant death for the board inside?
I really don't know much about electronics lolLift hard and take a multi, brah
