Winning=/= being a good QB. Trent dilfer and brad Johnson won super bowls. That team that you claim has a stable QB situation benched him this year for an unproven. Nobody was sold on smith. Some great teams win despite average or below QB play

Lets be serious. Jac wants him to sell tickets.

    I don't care about 8 games.

If you think manning wasn't a risk coming off that injury then I don't know.

Agree to disagree until he proves otherwise.

You said stable team not QB situation. I think SF is a stable team.

Agree to disagree until he proves otherwise.
Hasn't he proven otherwise in his body of work? What do you expect of him? It is a league based on winning. He wins. It seems like you are pessimistic about him(well about everything) when he hasn't done anything, but do the one thing that matters in this league. Trent Dilfer and Brad Jonson weren't great QBs, but they both were starters in the NFL. Why? Because they did what was necessary for their teams to win.

    I meant stable QB situations.

I don't see last year as tebow "winning". They went 8-8 in a bad division, I'd I recall correctly beat 0 playoff teams in reg season. That defense was nasty and kept them in games in which he was anemic for 3+ quarters and pulled out a miracle in the end. How can you ignore how bad he was for the majority of the games. I think last year was an anomoly that can't be repeated.

I don't see him being picked up anywhere yo start other than maybe jax to sell tickets. He deserves a shot over Sanchez I agree but that doesn't mean that I think he is the answer or capable of being a quality QB in the NFL

He has a career completion % under 50.

You do realize he didn't start until Week 7, right? Are you really attributing the weeks before he started to him? They went 1-4 when he wasn't starting and 7-4 when he did. (8-5 if you include playoffs)

He has a career completion % under 50.
Elway's was 46% in his first year of starting.

Haha oh man, another tebow argument, you either love or hate him. Unless the Jets fire Rex and fix up their horrible coaching and offense, I don't see tebow staying at new york, nor any other team really...just MAYBE Jacksonville like psycho said, but his career is definetely in a s*** hole right now.

Stoked for round 3 of the nets vs knicks matchup, especially with melo back!

Tim Tebow will ask NY Jets for trade or release now that Greg McElroy has been named starter over benched Mark Sanchez: source

-IMO, you cannot blame Tebow for not being able to start. It seems to me that a lot of people have something against the guy. It doesn't make much sense not to give him a fair shot.

lol pre-season. Raiders one time were amazing pre-season and they went on to bomb the entire regular season. Not saying Tebow is good or not (he's most likely a bomb) but judging him pre-season makes no sense. I've seen piss poor pre-season performances from a **** tonne of top performers.

“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

Tebow has always sucked in practice and preseason
I am not gona say I think he will be good again but the Jets are retarded for not going to him or McElroy (or trying both) mid season.
Find out what you got. Now its too late to really assess anything.

Organization is total fail. I think we can all agree on that at least.
Just look at that cap situation and all the bad contracts.

    1. Wilson, RGIII, Luck in that order. Luck still probably deserves ROY just due to all his clutch moments. And from taking the worst team in the league to a playoff team.

Sanchez throws 4 picks - Sunday
    Monday - Hes Benched
    Now this...

The Jets will explore all options with Sanchez, including a trade, and the team plans to part ways with Tebow after the season, league sources said Wednesday.

    More New York Jets Coverage
Jets coach Rex Ryan looks and sounds defeated as a lost season culminates in quarterback chaos, writes Rich Cimini. Story

Tim Tebow, who has won in the regular season and playoffs, deserves better from the New York Jets, writes James Walker. Blog

It would be difficult to trade Sanchez because of an $8.25 million guarantee in 2013 in his contract. However, the Jets, who benched Sanchez this week in favor of the unproven Greg McElroy, are taking an open-minded approach and may be willing to start over at quarterback.

Responding to the trade speculation, Sanchez's agent and older brother, Nick Sanchez, said Wednesday night: "Mark is a Jet and he's going to support the Jets any way he can through the remainder of season."

    Cliffs:
    Give Sanchez 8.1 million extension
    Pick up Tebow
Want to get rid of both or trade...

Wow... This franchise is in SHAMBLES

    B. 71.3QBR 104QB Rating, 223ypg, 18RD, 4INT, 748 rushing yards
    C. 65.5 QBR, 75.5QB Rating, 284ypg, 20TD, 18INT, 233rushing yards
Why omit rushing TDs? That aside, I think Luck is probably the most valuable to his team despite his statistical inferiority. The other two have top 3 rushing offences and Luck has basically nothing since he is the entire offence, so his statistics are naturally worse since he takes almost twice the snaps the other two do. Wilson has the best team out of all three, especially since his defence is 2nd ranked. Tough decision. I still want to give RGIII ROY but Kirk Cousins playing well makes me think that the offensive system in Washington is great.

    2. Better Season?
    A. 84QBR, 21TD, 17 INT, 253 pypg, 44rypg
    B. 89QBR, 18TD 10INT, 247pypg, 46rypg
You omitted rushing TDs again. Ugh. Cam Newton's first season had 14 rushing TDs and he's got 7 now. That aside, he picked up his game a **** tonne recently, which is probably why he's having a better season as a thrower. Psycho will insist that he's a "scam" still.
“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

As wide open as the NFL seems and while there are no true dominant teams I still think there arae onkly a handful capable of winning it all.
1st I eliminate teams without a QB (no one since Dilfer did it)- Minny,Balt, Cinci
then the rookie/1st years (no one since Brady has one it)- Seattle, SF, Indy, WA
Teams that cant put togehter a solid stretch- Dallas, Chicago,
I think the Gmen could do it but I dont think they will get in to begin with (Sea dn chicago (easy sched) will get WCs and either Dallas or WA will win out to take division
That leaves GB, ATL, NE, Denv, and Houston
I dont feel like Rodgers has enough help, SO my favorite would be ATL.
It would be SF if Smith was still QBThey only need a game manager with that D and running game. Colin K is good but I feel like asking for 3 straight games without a big mistake may be too much.
West could ago a lot of ways.
Houston's recent play worries me and NE's shaky D can worry me. Denver seems the most balanced but least explosive
You know Peyton hopes he doesn't have to face Belicheck

Guess: GB defeats Chicago (6seed) and Seattle defeats NFC east Champ
SF beats GB, ATl beats Sea
    SF beats ATL
    AFC
    NE beats Cinci
    Balt beats INDY
    NE beats Denv
    Hou beats Balt
    NE beats Hou
    NE revenge win over SF

Alternative possibility would be Denv or ATl getting in the Final and winning

    news flash --
Tebow may be traded to the Jags in 2013. Recent update regarding the situation in NY.
    Thoughts on this move?

I dont think he would suit that organization at all.. Then again i really only see him being secondary where he goes, i dont think any team will give him a true chance to start like Denver did...

    agree
Team sucks so I dont think he can win there
    BUT
I am glad if he will actually get a chance to start
That way it will end all the pecualtion and fights over whether he can be an NFL qb or not. FINALLY!
That way all the arguments won't be without facts in both directions.
He has only succeded thus far but has never sustained it.
He has been given no chance in NY despite Sanchez lack of NFL caliber play for months.
Jags have terrible QBs anyways and need some1 to sell tickets (currently they cover seats with tarps and have game blacked out)

    CLiffs: I hope it happens

    Random notes/THoughts
-5 years ago 27 players in the NBA averaged 20+ PPG. THis year there are 10.

-Upset of the year: Selig is without a doubt the most popular GM in the 4 major sports

-There is no good reason we shouldn't have an NFL game christmas Eve

-It is becoming harder and harder for MLB teams to build teams through free agency. Who was the last FA to justify big $. Most of the best players are now signed or traded before hitting the market, much like the NFL. Looking ahead to the next few years and already, there is very limited options in the years to come.

-Calvin Johnsons record season is going largely overlooked compared to APs. And somewhat deservedly so , given the state of the Passing game in the NFL.

-Cowboys, Steelers and Skins playing for their seasons tomorrow. For each of them the playoffs start now.

-Bama should certainly be the BCS favorite. But 9.5 point spread? ND plays close games and has a good D. I would expect them to lose but by a TD seems more reasonable.

Jags are only team I make sense for unless Chip Kelly goes pro and wants to run a spread type offense like he has at Oregon. Jags are so despereate to sell tickets there was a Groupon this week for $70 you got a game ticket, $25 merch voucher, and $20 food voucher.

I lived in Jax for about 2 years before the army. Teblow will help for awhile, but it won't last. Jax isn't a football town, and there's nothing to do in the city besides the riverfront which has like 3 decent bars and its like 20 mins away from the stadium. The interest just isn't there. They would need to build a solid winning team for several consecutive years for the team to last otherwise I see them moving elsewhere eventually to a better market.

I tend to agree, then I think about how much they make, what they get to do for a living, and how they're job is for our entertainment than I understand why they should play.

Ryan Freel dies of an apparent suicide. Sad. I know he had several concussions - maybe that had something to do with it.

Could not agree more. The holiday is about celebrating and being with family and friends, while there are sports that is great, but the majority and focus should be time spent with those you love most. Some people take holidays to the extreme (IE thanksgiving and binging their mind stupid) when that is not what the holiday is all about in the first place. lol
