Montana clearly #1, but why Elway over Brady???
Elway 2-3 in the SB, Brady 3-2
Elway 14-8 and Brady 17-7 in playoffs
Elway 79.9 rating, brady 89
People seem to remember his end of career wins and discount earlier failures
Not to mention that T. Davis was HUGE in his wins.
Brady much better winning % and rating in regular season too
Just saying
I am willing to hear other arguments for #2 but would put Tom ahead of ElwayFounder of MMDELAD

I'm not a stat junkie, I put Elway over Tom from simply watching them play. Elway just seemed to read defenses better and give away less on the PSR. Not to mention the clutch play, and scoring touchdowns like nothing in the last two minutes of games. The numbers certainly seem to place Tom ahead of John though.
It kind of seems like this whole "elite qb" thing. That's the "clean foods" of football. Everybody has their definition of elite qb and for GOAT. At least GOAT has metrics most people will agree on.Detroit Red Wings~Kansas Jayhawks~Kansas City Chiefs~K.C. Royals

In other news, the Cs and Lakers have hit new lows losing to the Pistons and Raptors
Howard ejected. Bryant scores 26 but on 32 shots
Opening SB line
SF (-4.5) Balt
Ravens 9pt dog vs Broncos, 8 vs NE
In only other Jom vs John game, Balt won 16-6
I expect this one to be higher scoring

Lol midcoast is soooooooooooo mad. I like the Pats but I prefer they lose because Pats fans are the funniest.
“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

im not a huge fan of comparing/ranking quarterbacks from different eras. there are far too many differences in how the game is/was played

NHL - Surprised that I am actually enjoying the return of hockey
NBA - D'Antoni benches Gasol in favor of Earl Clark. Lakers lose again anyways.
College bball DUke back at #1 and sign Jabari Parker
NFL:
1. SB should either be moved to Saturday night or make Monday a national holiday. Agree?Make president's day the day after or something. I have to imagine work productivity is at an all time low anyways.
2. I am not going to go as far as to say the Pistol is a fad like the Wildcat but I do think the succes tim e period will be limited compared to more conventional offenses.
a. Finding someone skilled enough to run it is too hard.
b. Someone will find a defense to scheme against it
c. teams will start drafting/developing certain types of players to defend againstit
d. Keeping the qb healthy enough for an enitre season year after year wont be sustainable
e. Such quarterbacks will have shorter careers and their declining athleticism will affect their success much faster than a protoype qb.
There is a better chance of CK, RB3 or Manzel ending up in a wheelchair by the time they are early 30s then being a star. Manning/Brady still were the best in the league into their mid to late 30s now.Last edited by determined4000; 01-21-2013 at 09:56 PM.
