Brent convicted of manslaughter and faces up to 20 years )good_
Yankees sign Tanaka for 155/7yrs + 20 posting.
SO I guess the Yanks are now disregarding their 189M limit. However, I do think that they went from being a crap roster last year to a majorly upgraded one this year.
Jeter in and Nix out
Tex in and overbay/hafner out
Ellsbury and beltran in but Cano and Arod out
Mccann in and ______ out
Adding Tanaka to the rotatio and potentially Pineda
I think Tanaka will benefit that they are asking him to be their #3 even though they want/expect 1-2 type results.
I like that he is a fastball split guy rather than a Dice-K type who was throwing 6 different pitches and fiddling. He works faster and more like a MLB type pitcher. A little/lot worried about his usage, having throwing 160+ pitches in starts for the past few years.
Good sign the Yankees finally gave long term money to a guy ENTERing his prime rather than leaving it. For that reason I am glad they didn't reach for Cano (but angry about overpaying for Ellsbury).
Will he be Irabu, Nomo, Dice K or Yu?
And o yea, Vince Young is bankrupt.

well at least Kobe isnt hurting his team right now (#Melo)
Happy to see Curry and love finally get their respect
Eastern Conference Starters
Lebron
Irving
Melo
Wade
George
ummm, who plays inside?
Unibrow should have gotten in IMO
Overall I agree with Kobe about the game getting too finesse. I also think the lack of fundamentals and reliance on one-on-one basketball kills the quality of the game. It is all AAU ball now and it is permeating the college game as well. Overall I enjoy basketball a lot less than I did 10 years ago.
Meanwhile I think hockey and baseball have gotten better. Baeball, without or atleast with less PEDs, there has been a retur to fielding and pitching. I think stats have helped this. Now teams know about DWAR and other metrics that place a premium on defense/spped/skills rather than just power numbers and OPS.
Of the stuff about Lolo Jones maing the Olympuc team to boost ratings is right, idk what to think.
Lastly, I plan on getting up early to watch the end of the Fed vs Nadal Semi. Pulling for Fed, but expecting a Nadal victory and then title this weekend.Founder of MMDELAD

Anthony Davis is in the west bud, he'll get in as a reserve. No way he was going to get in as a starter.
Once 7-footers like Dirk and KG showed that guys that size didn't have to park their asses down low, most big men wanted to be like them, hence the small ball pandemic. That's part of the reason why I actually enjoy watching small DI schools play because they consist of true 4 year players whom display the full repertoire of fundamentals. I'll only watch major conference games if they have personal connections i.e. alma maters, players I played against in HS, ect.Oakland Raiders--Toronto Raptors--Toronto Blue Jays--San Jose Sharks

I can't believe Brent only got 180 days pus probation. He should get far more just for drunk driving nevermind KILLING SOMEONE.
Nadal absolutely demolished Fed. His time is officially over at having a shot at winning a Grand Slam now.
Nadal will roll in the final too.
Feel lost with no football (Pro Bowl = who cares) this weekend. Next several months are worst in sports viewing IMO w/o both baseball and football. Bring on spring training and the NFL draft.Founder of MMDELAD

You think someone should get over far more than half a year for drunk driving? Yeah, our prisons aren't overcrowded enough and now you'll be creating a whole new host of felons and people who can't get a decent job who will probably choose to resort to crime.
Driving drunk is incredibly irresponsible and dangerous, but no.

I agree with Lee.
The repercussions for a DUI are enough without the added crowding in prisons.
The killing a person is a whole different story. My best friend was killed by a drunk driver and he got a harsher sentence for the dui than the vehicular manslaughter. He was back in society in less than 2 years. Florida.

Anybody else enjoying this pro bowl?
Hearing the plays in the huddle gives me a new appreciation for how much they have to learn.
Seeing teammates smashing each other=awesome.
Derrick Johnson (Chiefs D) laying out Jamaal Charles at the end of the 1st probably made Andy Reid cry.
Ward (Cleveland) just flipped Josh Gordon.
Definitely no lack of effort at all.
This is an excellent game.Last edited by miacanesfan25; 01-26-2014 at 05:36 PM.

My cowboys continue to be a joke
Dont fire aynone
Demote both Coordinators *why not can them, keepin gthem on the staff makes no sense)
Hire a playcaller (other than the HC nd OC who want to call plays and have in the past and are still on staff)
Promote an assistant to DC while demoting the DC and not firing him
Wonderful
NFL:

Peyton...
More to gain or more to lose?
Win and he is a multiple champ and has a winning playoff recordm won a SB outdoors (enters GOAT discussion)<--not saying he is
Lose and he cements it in everyone's mind that he is a choker and regular season stat compiler
Lynch
i feel bad for him. The NFL as to make him be at the media sessions or else no one would show (other than the Sherman's TOs, Ray Lewis', talkers)
but he generally seems very uncomfortable and I dont think it is any sort of act.
Unfortunately I think he would be better off giving way more time so he becomes less of a story and attraction. If he acted like everyone else he would have had 1/2 the coverage and attentionFounder of MMDELAD
