Mark had the wrong type of body for The fighter, he should have been ripped and slim for that role instead he was soft and full.

For this movie he has the right body, the guy he is playing is a juice head who couldn't make it in bodybuilding. I saw pictures of the real people the Rock and Mark are playing, and the guy Mark is playing is so far off man, at least get dark brown actor to play the character.

He's clearly bulking and eating a lot (hence why he looks quite soft), probably on creatine with replete glycogen stores, and the pics where his arms are big are just him with a pump. He probably loses 0.5-0.75 of an inch without a pump.

He has precisely the look of a natty that knows how to eat and get a pump.

Remember, 20+ years of on/off training. If you can't look like him after that long then you are doing something very, very wrong.
