Who are you? Your current lifts?
I'd like to talk with some fellow 165 ers. See what your training/intensity is like.

Floating at 181 thanks to a Mexican vacation recently haha, but was around 167-170 prior to going.
So we'll see if I can slowly cut off some fluff and increase strength to get back into this weight class. Always in for some races.
Haven't tested in a while outside of squats yesterday.
Sq - 310x1
Bench - 225x2
Deadlift 305x3
Right now on 5/3/1 but swing back and forth between that and a Quasi Texas Method routine depending on my attention span.the latest and greatest in training...or whatever.

Lifts are in sig. Bench and Deadlift are higher but not maxed them in a while.
I don't run a set routine, the only things set in stone are squat/deadlift monday, bench wednesday, shoulders/back friday. I play around with the sets and reps depending how I feel, also I've been experimenting with chains/bands for squat and bench and rack pulls/defecit deadlifts lately something I've never done until recently.440/365/595 @ 165

haha nvm. the slang is way to old for you to know
lame...oooo
get at the legs man! i never skip legs day. If anything i skip bench day.
...hate having big titties man lol
I personally liked 5x5. I dont have the attention span either to follow a set program. And my University gym is always so damn fudge packed that I cant get the equipment i want. So i play it by ear, but i usually always go heavy.
I would go back and fourth between a light day, (typically 1 set of super heavy 12-15, where i just wanna lay down and die) and next week i would do a 5x5.
For example..deadlifts. One week i would warm up and go for a set of 365 for 15. This would absolutely ruin my day it was so hard. I would sit on the floor and pant like a damn dog trying to get my air back.
The next week i would go back to my normal 5x5. say... 445-455 for 5.
See what works for you man.
I hated sheiko. Tore my quad level 2, and tore my hamstring level 1. Constant high volume does not like my body.
I like your setup breh. I'm the same way. I do what my body feels like doing. Sometimes its heavy rack pulls, sometimes its heavy deficit.
I need to incorporate some band, chains. Good idea man.
do you normally cut to 148 for meets?

All my meets have been in 165s but I totaled more at 158 than I have at any other weight (didn't water load and ate a big breakfast and shake before weigh in). I've been pushing for 1250 total (at 165 or 148), Time will tell though whether I bust or not going for it at 148 looool. Our lifts are similar, seems most juniors and teen lifters are usually focused more on squat and then deadlift so their bench is miles behind! Or at least that's what it's like in my fed.

Yep for sure. Gotta love some instinctive ADD training.
I try to strike a balance between volume, intensity, and frequency so I don't run myself too far into the ground.
Deadlifts usually being the culprit that fries me since I love doing them as much as possible.
Only giving 5/3/1 a chance since anyone I know who trains swears by it.
I've never had the greatest luck on splits though, so I tend to swing back over to full body eventually.the latest and greatest in training...or whatever.

Does "elite" vary a bit between feds?
I wanna say on powerlifting watch it had elite for 165 around 1298. Then I looked on another site and saw that elite was 1310 or so.
My plans are to bulk up to 200 over the next year and work on improving my total, then when I'm over 1300, I'll cut back to 165 for that elite total. I think it's a lot easier and more beneficial in the long run to increase your weight above 165. My lifts shot up like crazy when I went from 160 to 180 last year.

Your going up to 165... i will probably bulk to 185ish and gain some massive strength, then come back to kill it!
cutting is horrible. it makes me feel sad inside
Haha im 5'7 too! love being short. and in time i will be short and stocky
100% Raw Powerlifting has released an updated Elite totals january 1st, 2012. I also found the link on powerlifting watch. http://www.rawpowerlifting.com/classifications.htm

Do you lift in 100% raw?
Where are you from? They have a lot of meets in Va, I was actually going to compete at one of their meets this summer but ended up going with a diff fed cause I had a few guys going to that meet with me.
I like a lower updated total, might get to my goal of elite a bit sooner
