Height weight ratio for lifting heavy weight!

    Hey Guys,

I have question about lifting heavy weight.

I am trying to increase my mass but the problem is that I started with a friend , but now he can lift almost twice heavier than me. He is about 4 inch taller than me, my question is that does being taller helps in lifting heavy weight. If yes whats the height weight lifting ratio???

    Regards
    Sam33r

If you are doing the same routine then maybe the routine is just better suited to his needs, or he has just been working harder, or hes diet is better. Generally speaking when it comes to powerlifting the guys are pretty stocky, even in the 75kg division the top guys are mostly under 5'4", Olech is 5'1" and hes #1. What is your height/bodyweight/build and what routine are u using. THere are many diff factors that could equate for the gap between u and your friend. Also what are your lifting stats?

This is an over-simplification but typically the shortest guy at any given weight will be stronger

    Hey all,

    Thanks for your contribution!

I kinda found the problem, the weight which i was lifting was kinda too heavy for me so I tried some lighter weights and found more effect on the targeted muscle. Now please suggest if using less weight would help me gain good mass?

For your reference , before i was using 28 KG (61 Lbs) for bicep curls now i dropped it down to 18 KGs (40lbs) is it too drastic, btw my friend start with 20 Kgs (44lbs) and increase it upto 40 Kgs (88 lbs)

    looking ahwad to your suggestions!

Stop curling in the squat rack and start squatting in the squat rack.

If you're struggling to bench a weight that is under your body weight, you are likely either a female suffering from malnutrition or a male who doesn't eat at all.

    Eat more. A lot more.

How long have you been lifting? I'm 4 months into SS and now am benching 150lbs at 140lbs bodyweight. I remember how I was trapped below the bar with 10lbs plate on each side, lol.

He's probably heavier or been training more than you have. Just eat and train more and you'd be able to bench that weight too.
