First meet complete!
I weighed in at 181 exactly so that was a great start. I went 8 for 9 during the comp. I missed my third squat attempt of 400. Still ended up with a 370 squat, 275 bench and 435 deadlift (which is a 5 pound PR) and a 1080 total. I had so much fun at this meet and thank you to everyone here that encourages new lifters in the sport to compete. My only complaint was the RPS let 85 lifters compete instead of sticking to the 60 lifter cap, so I ended up staying there for 14 hours because I had a few heavier training partners competing at night. Other than that it was a great day, vids of bench and deadlift up soonish.

Didn't get one of my squat, wasn't even aware I was being filmed. Youtube is still rotating the video's so I appologize for them being sideways in advance.

Ryan, First off Congrats on a great day of lifting and we appreciate your support of our meet. But I am saddened to hear about your negative comment about the meet. First off, we were caught off guard on the extreme turnout for the meet. Next year we plan to go to a 2 day format to avoid a long day for both staff & competitor alike.
I would be happy to provide you contact info for the 25 lifters that exceeded the limit and caused you great anguish. But by your post, you have already done so. That way you can let them know that they inconvenienced you. All their entries came all at one time, and I don't like playing God and unilaterally telling someone they can't lift even though their entry came BEFORE the posted entry deadline. My reputation is that I go to great lengths to make sure they are appreciated and are catered to within reason.
Many of the competitors are long time supporters of me & my meets, so I will accommodate them whenever possible.
To be absolutely fair Ryan, you need to fess up and admit that you missed the designated weigh in times and showed up significantly late and I accommodated you.
In reality Ryan, you are a very young man with many years ahead of you. You need to know the full story before you go public and make statements that make you look naive . In my 30 years in Powerlifting, I have learned that one needs to set aside the ENTIRE day because one never knows what may happen {and something usually does} that can cause a meet to run longer than originally thought.

I was at that Meet as a few good friends were in it. With the amount of lifters and the amount of people tucked into the space that was available, it looked like well controlled chaos. Gene, you did a great job with how quickly the lifters completed and moved through it all. Had I know about it any day other than the day entries were due, you'd have had 86 lifters that day.
I'm looking forward to Hartford in June.

Rereading how I worded that it does sound rather negative and I appologize. You and your team did a fantastic job running the meet and I am extremely grateful you let me compete even though I showed up extremely late. In hindsight if it was two days I probably wouldn't have seen an 830 raw squat or Vincents 570 raw bench which were both mind boggling and amazing to watch as a new lifter. Again I appologize for the misunderstanding, me and everyone I was with had an amazing time and I plan on competing july 7th at your VT meet. Congrats to everyone who competed here.
