    Weird question

When I was lifting last year my legs blew up in size. This is great other then the stretch marks and having a hard time fitting jeans. My question is how can I continue doing squats without my legs blowing up too much more. I'm still going to do squats but I don't want to gain too much more size in my thighs. I do somewhat wider then shoulder width atg squats if that's relevant at all. Thanks for any input

^ this. if you're doing squats at 8-12, you'll have a propensity to grow more so than if you did 4-6 reps. you can get hypertrophy from other exercises, not just squats. i like squats heavy to activate as many fibers as possible. then higher reps for say leg press, then lunges.

I was doing bill Starr's intermediate so I was doing only 5 reps. I'm sure alot of it was newb gains but afterwards it was not. Like I said I'm sick of buying pants too big for me to fit over my upper thighs and butt. Is there a different wag to do squats to maybe not target the upper thigh as much? I've never heard of any personally. Thanks

I would just do higher reps with less weight not saying yours legs wouldnt get any bigger but usually people do higher reps for more definition and less mass...thats the only idea I have for you best of luck
