    Should i take mass gainer or whey protein?

    Hi bodybuilding.com! first time poster here and was just wondering which type of drink i should take.

    Currently 137lbs 5'8 height

    Started working out again like 4 months ago and am committed to work out every 2 days. I am adding more calories and protein to my diet and am seeing gains. I currently use whey isolate (isoflex)

    Bodybuilding.com/store/all/iso.html (which i did not buy, all given)

    now i have ON Serious mass (given as well) ----> remove the 0 as i can not post URL/Links 0ptimumnutrition.com/products/serious-mass-p-241.html

    and was just wondering if i should switch to the mass gainer... I do want mass as I am only 137lbs but does the mass gainer work better than the protein? Or, should i switch in-between the two with protein before and after workout and mass gainer before i sleep? Any tips appreciated. Thanks!

    Yeah usually mass gainers have like 700 calories but the serving size is like 4 huge scoops. So you just get like 10 servings for $60. Just get whey

    yea i know but food taste alot better for me and i eat alot during the day in school and a shake just dont cut it for me. i buy on sale idk what the equivalent would be to the shake but thats just my preference. obviously everyone has different taste.

    hmm i just want to point out that i got the massgainer and protein for free already..... its not the option of being "expensive" when it is free. And yes, i am bulking with 137 that's why i am asking if i should just stick to whey or go to ON serious mass gainer. And yes, my diet is consisting of bulking (higher calories, protein etc.)

    i say keep taking the ON serious mass, i have had great results with it. great for bulking if you have a hard time eating the calories. lots of protein,carbs,vitamins,amino acids etc. it has creatine in it as well. at 137 pounds i would say its perfect for you

    buy this weight gainer called mutant mass. It tastes awesome and its actually pretty cheap. a fifteen pound bag costs about 85 bucks. 4 scoops is like 1200 calories with just water. I usually have two shakes with milk throughout the day but only use 1 1/2 to 2 scoops for each one.

    Go to your local supermarket and buy a big bag of rice, pasta, many many pounds of beef, and lastly a lot of ice cream.

    Eat eat and eat all day. Thousands and thousands of calories. No mass gainer balonie.

    okay first off, everyone knows you should eat.. but that wasn't your question so i don't know why everyone is saying that. the best thing to do is take the mass gainer in between meals, for example in between breakfast and lunch before you work out, than after you work out take your whey protein and if you want you can take the mass gainer again after dinner. for the best ad quickest result keep doing this and keep working hard at the gym doing higher weight and lower reps and you should see results
