No matter how UK got them? Well, until there is some actual evidence showing otherwise you might as well shutty because thats really all you have and means nothing. I hear it all time and until something surfaces, it goes in one ear and out the other. One thing that is true tho, they are playing some awesome basketball.

I ask this same question to all of my UK friends: before Calipari came to UK, honestly, what was your opinion of him at Memphis?
Now I never get honest answers (not surprising) so I would expect you to say something similar to what you just said like "well nothing was proven" "I thought he did a great job at Memphis and was and is a great coach"

lol it was a metaphorical bronze medal ofc. I think what Pitino was getting at is that he's proud of how his squad played all season and he's proud that they even got to the Final Four (which he should be). Then he went on to say how he likes this particularly group of Kentucky kids and that they play with heart. He's also gonna be rooting for the Wildcats on Monday so they can bring the ship back to the state of Kentucky.

Basically, more people need to be humble like him lol. Much respect for that man.

Granted I said in another thread I was going to bed, I'll reply once more before I lay down.

My opinion of Coach Cal? I thought he was above average coach that was a great recruiter. In short, I liked good basketball and his teams always have played uptempo, fun to watch style of basketball. I thought he was shady and still think he operates in the grey area, just not as much at UK because of the tradition and recent success he has had, however, just because its the grey area doesn't mean its illegal. He knows the rules and finds ways around them, nothing wrong with that IMO, you know why? Because it is not illegal. Is it unethical? Maybe, who knows what goes on behind the scenes, but until the NCAA fixes the loop holes, there is nothing wrong with exposing them. There is no proof he cheats, the NCAA cleared him as a coach. UK has one of the best compliance officers in the NCAA in Sandy Bell, so I don't see the problem.

He does have 2 vacated final fours and if you want my opinion on that, he should only have 1 vacated final four. The NCAA vacated the Memphis final four without proof and went on hearsay.Do I think something went on there? Absolutely, but I dont condemn people without solid proof and there was none. I think you can still find the report the NCAA put out on that one. The UMASS one had proof of what Camby done and it deserved to be vacated.

Seeing as you want to play that game, what was your honest thoughts on Rick Pitino at UK? I always ask UofL fans this when they want to ask what my thoughts on Coach Cal at Memphis was. You know what they always say? "I was jealous of the success UK had and wanted that at UofL". Do you know what they said prior to him coming to Louisville? He cheats, he intimidates the refs, and the usual garbage thats spewed about rival coaches. UofL fans hated Pitino while he was at UK, just like most UK fans hated Calipari at Memphis. Do you know what it all means? Zip, nada, nothing at all. Its pointless and means nothing at the end of the day.

I'm going to bed now and hope to see you guys again in the Final Four next year. It was fun seeing UK and UofL there this year, but sadly it doesn't happen often enough. Take care now.

i should have said "lsu football is more successful than michigan football recently". lsu is a new blood program.
