they both have lower back injuries,, one of them has 2 herniated disks.. they dont say not to do deadlifts, they just dont recommend them due to the fact that their injured i guess..their videos are targeted towards average joes just looking to build some muscle,, and if they recommended deadlifts then the noobs that watch the videos and listen to the advice would probably go and try deadlift without proper form and snapp all their **** up... but hey man thats just my take on things, dont get all butt hurt or butt rap3d , cause at the end of the day its just advice, thats all it is,, go out there and lift whatever the fcuk you wanna lift

U cereal bro??
what a dumbbee to think in any way that hitting your macros for the day is IN ANY WAY easier than NOT buying poptarts at the store!!! listen to this lil bit of logic okay?...>>> you go to the store... buy fruits, meats, vegies, and carb sources (i would HOPE everyone at least has SOME idea of what those are).... AND DONT BUY FUC**** POP TARTS! was that too complicated? cuz if so im sorry. i dont think i can dumb it down any more. if you only have healthy foods in the fridge/freezer, you are far more likely to hit all your micros and macros and keep to your limit on things like types of fats and stuff. buy the necessities, and limit yourself to eating only whats in ur fridge/freezer. its THE simplest diet IN THE WORLD! Saying, "okay, ima go bbq sum chicken, and eat my veggies and fruits while its cookin"!! yes, of course if your really serious, count ur macros, and if your REALLY serious, you count ur fiber/micros as well. but for noobs, you gotta make it simple and toss all those ****ty fad diets right outa a noob's mind. yes poptarts are food in the sense that you can EAT them, but they also arent REAL food. they are highly processed, and when u look at the ingredients, you dont see many things in there that look or sound very natural or healthy...
look at the ingredients and nutrition list for poptarts......................
200 Calories for ONE pastry??? LESS THAN ONE gram of dietary fiber??? i saw dried blueberries, apple, and grapes... tell me how much (percentage-wise) you think those pop-tarts are composed of REAL food.... about 2%? lol. or less???... dumbbee.
with so many aritificial foods with artificial coloring and flavoring and fillers/bulkers and other bad constituents out there,i would count a person INSANE to claim you can eat WHATEVER you want as long as you watch ur macros! any doctor would say the exact same thing i am saying. it simplifies to the extreme to say just buy natural, real foods (or at least as few factories involved in their production as possible) and watch calories that way. you are less likely to get overwhelmed and more likely to be all-around healthier for it by taking that advice. but hey, its all just advice. thats all it is. you can do whatever the FFFFFFUK! you wanna do!Last edited by chadcall2012; 06-27-2012 at 06:59 AM.

I don't want to go as far as callin them retards but yes they are stupid. They both have a ton of great advice it's just a few small things that you said that make no sense. They know there wrong now tho but will never admit it. Hodgetwins doing the fasting thing when they said for years gotta get those fast carbs after workout and gotta eat a bunch of small meals etc. They proved to themselves there info was wrong. Lui Marco saying pop tarts are stupid and Ian is stupid than proving it by eating ice cream instead was the biggest wtf I ever seen. As if the sugar in his ice cream is somehow different from the sugar in a pop tart. Lui also saying how bodybuilding is everything and he has been watching it and living it forever and now the recent vids are all saying its a small part of his life, he just happens to lift, he does not consider bodybuilding a sport. Too controversial. In the end it's up to the viewer to decide what works for them. Wanna fast go ahead if you don't like it stop. Pretty self explanatory stuff. Who cares what science says if it doesn't work well for you. I personally have to get at least 70g of carbs about 1hr before I work out. I tried not doing that and getting more carbs much earlier etc but I perform awful and don't feel good so **** the science I'm still gonna do what works for me.

I literally laugh at those who call Hodge Twins idiots. Certainly, I am not a fanboy but they certainly know what they are talking about and have done through trial and error and not from just reading. Yes, it stupid to criticize Ian for having a bad physique but it’s also hard to take him seriously when he cannot relate the science to real life. It would be like someone telling Ronaldo that his shooting technique is wrong since it’s not textbook or someone who never boxed telling Pacman his style is all wrong, if it works it works.
Hodge Twins kept it simple for the average joe. Eat healthy, compound exercises, don’t do exercises where the risk is greater than the reward and majority supplement are bull**** only a select few work. And finally, these two are definitely natural BB as they seen to have bodyfat percentage which is normal.

Because most people judge a book by its cover.
The 9-5 working man who watches youtube fitness is gonna take one look at ian mccarthy and think he's a pussy.
meanwhile the hodgetwins have visible muscle and are more masculine in facial appearance than ian.
Truth is Ian in general has more substance in his arguments but the way he looks will always put him at a disadvantage to guys with better bodies/ bigger guyssickening striations

This.
..and I'm sorry it's almost impossible to take advice from a unaesthetic kunt like Ian McCarthy. So many Jimmy Struthers out there that love giving out advice in regards to nutrition, lifting, etc. Same thing with guys who've never played sports but can armchair coach their way through any game, fight, etc.
