Not very flashy or slick; not very gimmicky or any 'secrets' involved, either. Just reasonabe attention to detail, and consistency over a long period of time.

I started training at age 45. There's a 'before' pic of me posted on my Bodyspace page.

Please don't say this too loud. I don't want people having the same success I did.

Things do slow down as you get to 40 from what 20 was like but the training style is pretty much the same for me. As far as dieting I find that eating two large meals a day works for me while having a protein shake for breakfast.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

I gather that hitting your macros is most important, though Layne Norton's (journal published) research on *optimal* muscle protein synthesis seems to contrast with any type of fasting program.

Well I was having second thoughts as I am now 36 and I was wondering if I could even make any gains at my age. I did when I was younger, but I'm older and softer now.

You sir just inspired me. I can and will do this.

I am almost 53 years old. I started lifting weights again after many years. I gained about 7 pounds of muscle and 7 pounds of fat during my bulking period the last 6 months. To my surprise I noticed it didn't make a big difference between lifting heavy or light, diet had a much greater impact on my progress and muscle mass.
