I had your same problem when I was 18, i weighed around 150 and couldn't gain weight, Then I got to college starting eating peanut butter sandwiches everynight and ate a lot of protein, i went from 150 to 215 in a year but it wasn't all good weight, I am now down to a leaner 170 and eating alot healthier. The only way I know is for you to eat a lot of carbs and proteins, keep the calories up and lift heavy and low reps, limit your cardio and high rep exercises untill you reach your desired weight than cut down to a healthier weight and change your diet.

    lots of misinformation here
He shouldnt be doing high reps, rather heavy lower reps
What about fat intake? No importance?
He is a teen and doesnt need to think about cutting

Nutrition during the teenage years is very important. Eating healthy can be hard especially for the on-the-go teens. Readers will find facts on proper teen nutrition, effects of poor teen nutrition, ways to get teens to eat healthy foods.

    Thanks a lot.
