Well, those 400 carbs were nice and went quick somehow. Now to figure out what to do about a tan since Dream Tan is not allowed. I have a spray tan lined up. but I'm afraid I won't be dark enough.

I decided just to go with the spray tan done professionally at the show. I figured since this is my first show, warm up, that it would be less stressful and I can focus on other task. I do, however, wonder if I should get a spray tan while I'm in Monroe on Thursday. My show is 1.5 hours away, and I believe I will be getting my spray tan done the morning of the show. Pre-judging is at 10:00 A.M. Saturday.

O yeh,I had no idea the spray tan would be $140! That's nuts! I most likely will use an application tan next time like Bob suggested. I just didn't want to take a chance on ended up with a bad tan job!

One day out
One day out! I spent last night plugging food into MFP to have that stress off my back. This morning I got up to shave. I had early weights for football, work until 3:00, drive to Shreveport, LA (1.5 hours away), check in 5-7, tanning 6 & 9, Wal-mart, posing practice, and routine.... woof lol if I can get through today, i'll be smooth sailing! Pre-judging is at 10 and finals at 7! My routine song is transformers-"it's a fight".

3rd place, mens novice lightweight... Sucks because I wanted first, but 1 and 2 had 10 and 15 lbs on me.
Brooke, the blonde on the right, won her Bikini division and the overall. What a sexy beast!
2 days post show, and 19 days out until my second, which is a NPC Southern Classic and national qualifier. It will have a lot more competition!Team 3DMJ

Weight is up to 137 today and hovering around 150. My feedback from the judge was I needed more muscle. The bad thing is that is not something I can make a quick fix. Also, I'm adding a show and doing the Red Stick Classic on the 25th, then last show June 1st. The thing that sinks is the same judge from May 11th will be doing the May 25th show.
For weights, strength is back up after peak weeks higher cals and deload week. It just hit me that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and enjoying the last few weeks, even on this weeks poverty macros of 30f/250c/170p-which is a drop of 10g from all 3 last week.
One thing I had to battle is how can I control my hunger. I used veggie/fruit shake after my workout to get some volume in me. It has really helped and I try not to eat a 10AM meal and just 3 large meals a day. This helps me mentally at the end of the day and I remain busy during the day to get hunger off my mind.Team 3DMJ

At your weight, you'll compete as a bantamweight at a qualifier. At a non qualifier event, they lump everyone under 165 as a lightweight. I competed at 148 last year against 2 guys who were 160-165. Just keep working on it. I've been cutting but holding steady at 165. I'm hoping to be in competition shape in June some time. Hoping to compete at low 150s.

Trying to bro! This week was my bitter sweet moment knowing it is coming to an end and my motivation was at an all-time high. For energy levels, they are pretty good considering the poverty macros, but for 24 weeks it is what I expected. I'm in good hands with 3DMJ so I'm not too worried with my health as a concern because of their solid reputation.

Made it through the week guys and it was better than expected. I was so busy I guess I didn't have much time to think about it. I have the Red Stick Classic in Baton Rouge this Saturday and the following is the Southern Classic in Jackson, MS. Only 13 more days left! My first prep is coming to an end and hopefully I can make some improvement this next weekend. I'll try and update y'all tomorrow with my upcoming adjustments!

Hey mate, I'm just wondering why a judge, a person who is actually there to give objective feedback, didn't give you objective feedback. It's easy to tell someone they need to gain more muscle, hell we all could use more muscle. What he should have said is you need to lose at least 3-7 more lbs to be in shredded condition. This at least you can work on this very instant, you even have 2 more shows to keep dropping weight and get in stage shape.
Enjoy it, it's the light at the end of the tunnel, it's time to hit overdrive and give it everything you got. There's only 1 chance on stage to come in your best. BTW you've gone a whole week of 30f? things must be pretty ****ty for you know right?
How many were in your class? Thinking you're "going to rock" the competition is a mindset that can be dangerous

5 total. I guess my context came off wrong, I mean to "stick with". Lol no way I'm that cocky. Hell, I got 3rd at a non-qualifier.
My small goal was to place top 3 at my first show ever. Also, the feedback was via email. It was short and I thought he could of put more effort in his response. That's NPC for you, size over conditioning.
Although, all these shows are NPC and I'm a natty. Not to make any excuses, but I understand what I'm going up against with an open mind. I have to remind myself when I get too competitive that the goal was to get in the best shape for my wedding June 15th. I have accomplished that. Now, I'm doing this for pride to place better, finish prep strong, and enjoy the experience with my fianc้. It has turned a challenge into a hobby. I'm addicted and it's great.Last edited by Vanderdd; 05-22-2013 at 09:05 PM. Reason: iPhone

Brooke and the ladies. Girl in the middle won 1st in Bikini A and the overall. Brooke took 2nd to her in her class. Not bad for her second show, after winning the overall two weeks before.
Open Lightweight and Middleweight. Dude is a beast. He will be a future pro.
