Honestly I feel that the guard just wanted the kids to leave the door, then he would have returned the board. in a way punishing them and teaching them a lesson but at the same time not being too harsh on them.

CALL THE POLICE! Don't take things into your own hands. Law enforcement is there for a reason, that is what you pay them for.

If he DID NOT WANT TO CALL THE POLICE (for whatever reason) he should have let them go. Street justice is not legal.

If there is a problem you are supposed to call the police. That is what they are there for. If you believe their punishment is insufficient I suggest you either figure out a way to get it changed, deal with it, or move to a different country. There is no permitted "street justice".
