We have one of the monster truck style tires at the gym and it is intriquing me. I have never even attempted it and have no idea other than what I have seen on TV as to how it's done. I want to give it a shot friday and was wondering what to expect and if there are any deep dark tricks or secrets to it?

Here's a great vid:

It's by the head coach at my old Crossfit gym. I was trying to deadlift them before I saw this vid and was having a lot of trouble.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.

One point to gain speed, if you're flipping it more than once, is once the tire starts to fall position yourself so that the moment it hits the ground, you're lifting it back up. If you shove the tire over, it'll bounce and move, delaying the time when you can grab it again. That's how I lost speed on my attempts. 293 lb tire, flipping it 15 times. Horrible time of 48 seconds.
Good luck, and remember, you're really only lifting half of the tire. The Iron will never Lie to you.

A bit too late for that advice Simp, wondered why I was having a hell of time and it was just an old Escort.
The tire flipping deal is lame, was easy as hell but like I mentioned it's a small tire weighing about 300 lbs. Would love to give it a try on one of those monster 700+ lb things."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."
