How can nutrition affect only one body part?

I have been searching the form trying to find ideas as to why my chest is not growing. One piece of advice I keep seeing is people saying to “eat more”. They give this advice even if the poster asking for advice claims that the rest of their body parts are growing or gain strength just fine. Assuming that the poster is telling the truth about the rest of their body parts, why would improper nutrition only cause one part of the body to lag behind the others?

GENETICS. I have amazing chest genetics in comparison to my other body parts. if everything else is growing then so is your chest only at a slower rate. your only option is to focus more on your chest without neglecting other body parts.

What is your approach to training your chest? Are you eating enough to allow for gains?

This as well. missed it out. you might also simply not be training that body part effectively.

spot reduction of fat isn't really possible...you just have to keep losing and eventually ALL of it will be gone.

however, for BUILDING of muscle all you can really do is train the areas right. (focus on technique, lift heavy, GIVE YOURSELF AMPLE TIME BETWEEN REPEATING MUSCLE GROUPS IN THE GYM SO THEY CAN RECOVER AND GROW). also, i found it helpful that to build my chest i worked on the "accessory" muscles involved in chest lifts (tris, bis, back). give it all a try.

    Oh, and most importantly...PROPER NUTRITION.

OP, if your chest is not growing, it is likely because you have not presented it with adequate stimulus to grow and/or ample calories.

Have you reviewed the stickies and determined how many calories you need to be ingesting to be 10-20% above your maintenance? If not, then that is why people are telling you to focus on nutrition. You can do all you want in the gym and take all the supplements you want, but if you are eating at a deficit, you will never optimize your LBM gains.
