Confused on Calorie counts!!

Hey guys,

I'm writing down all the nutritional data from the foods I eat such as Protein, Carbs, Fat and Calories so I can distinguish how much I eat and how much of this nutrients I get everyday, but I am a bit confused on the calories bit. In most food they will have "kcal" and I was wondering if Kcal is the same as Calories..So 100kcal is equivalent to 100 Calories?

On food labels, yes. It's a convenience thing vs trying to explain what a kilocalorie is to the masses who only eat out of vending machines and only ride the exercise bike for 5 hours after work.
