What kind of meditation are you doing?
That's something a lot of people aren't warned about IMO and IME. Happened to me, I find if I meditated for more than 30 mins I began touching upon repressed emotions... It was rarely mentioned, the mindfulness community seems to only be talking to the unfulfilled but happy crowd, not the people with unresoved trauma. If You Don't Like To Talk About Your Feelings, This Might Help...

Starting to have problems/reoccurring issues affect my life.
Gonna look to get rid of the issues but start meditating again. Only did it a few times but it was always so peaceful and calming. Now that the weather's getting nicer I can do it outside too - which is what I've wanted from the beginning.PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.

There's many ways to meditate. You can do it lying down, sitting, walking, or even in your daily activities. Posture affects the experience so it helps to look up proper technique / tips for the particular way you choose. As far as thinking about nothing, it's more like witnessing your thoughts without any judgement and letting them be as they arise. You can start with focusing on your breath and returning your focus there whenever you realize thinking has distracted you. Some people meditate with affirmations instead or by contemplating particular ideas. I chose to start with the breath and sitting half-lotus because it seemed the easiest place to start for me.

Emotional Freedom Technique. It is a very quick and simple method of reducing the intensity of traumatic memories. It is based on Chinese acupuncture but you are just tapping specific meridians in the body by repeating certain positive phrases. It has been scientifically tested. It works fast!

I usually do 20 minutes x 3 times a day. Focus on breathing 5 sec in 5 secs out, do feel the benefits after the sessions, better clarity, cheerfull, staying in the present, less anxiety, more happy and all those other positive things.
Still have trouble concentrating on the breathing, it does happen that i wander off into other thoughts during the sessions ( can still stay in the present after the session which is nice, its harder during the meditation sessions if that makes any sense ).
One of the issues I have about this is my heartrate, its actually hard and fast which its been most of my life and I have a problem with getting it down to a calm pace, even during meditation. I think that I think about it subconsciously and let it affect me that way since fast and hard heartrate > signs of anxiety, therefore I feels it hinders my progress. Advice?

I do Self Inquiry "meditation"
Just sit on a chair, when thoughts arise, ask AND SEEK:
" to whom are these thoughts arising to? "
Repeat until enlightenment.

Hey Guys! 'Beginner' Meditator here. Ignore me being red, some a**hole decided to neg me to oblivion because he didnt like some stream links i kindly provided, jacka**.
Anyway, have some questions!
At the moment I do about 4x20minutes a day, morning, before & after gym and before sleep time and I enjoy the hell out of it, feels really good in general doing it. What I dont really understand is how do you progress with meditation, I feel like i can handle the concentration during the sessions, I feel alot more open in a way while doing it than what I did in the beginning. I've tried reading up both here and on the internet around how to progress, some say you should stick to just mindfull meditation while some introduce other variants of meditation ( which I havent really looked into ). Should I just continue, increase the meditation time or should I introduce these other variants somehow, not really sure what to do since I want to keep progressing and reap even more benefits.
What I also dont understand is what people say that you explore your inner universe or something similar, do you achieve this just with meditating? Don't really understand how meditating which essentially clears your thoughts somehow makes you find your inner universe and discover new things and so forth. Maybe the question got abit difficult to understand, dont really know how to put it exactly

Just chiming in to say that meditation really is the sh**.
As someone that has been up and down regarding actually meditating, I have been pretty consisent the past Id say week and a half.
Now mind you the results were not instanteous. You eventually feel a sense of clairty. Even my negative thoughts are just that. Negative thoughts. They just kind of go away in stride, I dont even try to fight them.
All that said, I still have a little tough time staying in the present. I find myself thinking about the future more often than not, and that is actually hindering my meditative progress. Seeing results is awesome though and I cant wait to see how much progress I can attain with this. On the road to true enlightment!San Diego Chargers and Minny Twolves all day baby!!
