Anybody here know of any lesser known companies or builders that sell good quality prowler/sleds at a decent price? The best combo of quality and price Ive found so far is the "Brawler" built by Edge Fitness Systems out of Ohio. If you guys know of anymore, please list them here. Thanks.

The Brawler is way better quality and costs less than the "R" brand sled. By lesser known, I meant independent builders that people might know about. Heres a pic of the Brawler, the black one on the left is $175.00 and the yellow one on the right is 200 bucks.

This thread is relevant to my interests.
I've been wondering about this too. These guys are local to me and have a couple of prowler versions, including one that breaks down to fit into the trunk of a car. Cost is $200... same as above. The Brawler looks awesome though.
http://strengthsled.com/index.html
According to the website all versions also come with replaceable skids now, unlike the picture above. I've been tempted a few times to go buy one from them since I would not have to pay shipping, but part of me wants to know if there is something better for the price.[]---[] Equipment Crew #26 []---[]

I think what daniel and I had in mind would look exactly like a prowler, but with 3-4 wheels. That way you do not have to lift up on handles. It could be just like pushing a sled, but would save your drive way. Think something like this but heavy duty and with prowler handles.

The CFF branded econo prowler is discounted down to $85 + shipping.
It's barebones, but I've seen it in action and it's still quality. I wouldn't put it up there with the heavy duty models, but if you're just starting out at that price point it seems reasonable.

I see, but I was simply going by this line from him:
If you put 3 or 4 wheel on it, it seems like the weight necessary to bog it down would be significant. It doesn't take much weight on a skid prowler to make you want to lay down and rest in your own puke. Even Rick, the guy from Edge, told me the wheelbarrow he makes isn't the same exercise as the prowler.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I'm actually close to purchasing this, and was planning on writing a review on bb.com. But that was before the CFF prowler was posted. It's hard to beat that price! Anybody ever try it?
EDIT: One review on the CFF site - customer said they had 100 lbs on it and it bent. Oops.STAND TALL AND SHAKE THE HEAVENS!!

I have heard negative things about Rogue from others, I heard some very negative things about York from someone who is a huge York fan, I also have heard bad things about Sorinex.
I recently had a very unpleasant experience with Christian's Fitness Factory. I think every company has its detractors. This is one reason I like buying used and do not have any real brand loyalty.
That being said I too would be curious to hear about Rogue as I was considering ordering their gun rack.

Its not really a beef with them, Im just the kind of person who really gets tired of the "IT" thing of the moment. Ive said it here before and even listed awesome places/sites to get insane deals on equipment. I know for a fact I can get WAY better equipment for far less money. Out of all the equipment manufacturers out there, how good is their stuff really? Its not that good, right? If you want to compare them with Home Use equipment, then yeah, they kick some ass but they dont even come close to almost all commercial lines. And how many people on here really need 1 inch hole spacing, so please dont throw that one at me! So, beef with Rogue? No. Sick of hearing "Rogue" like Im sick of hearing "Justin Bieber" and "Lady Gaga"? Yes!

I am waiting on an Edge Fitness Swiss bar and I just added the Brawler to my order. I think Rich may be in Columbus this weekend and I can get both of them and test them out. If not I have to wait until April 14th when he is in town for my companies bodybuilding show The Buckeye Classic. He will have a booth at the show if anyone wants to check out any of his stuff at the Columbus convention center. I have used a Prowler before so I will be able to give a good comparison of the two sleds.
Nothing is impossible.

I wasn't implying it was overpriced, I didn't even know anybody else sold them. Believe me, I know all about Rick and I've dealt with him several times. I might be mistaken, but I think I'm even the one that introduced this forum to him a couple of years ago. You won't find me bad mouthing him unless something changes. I was simply saying that the wheelbarrow device is expensive....and it is.
I have lots of stuff that was expensive that I've bought anyway, because I felt it was worth it. This is the same thing.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

The only thing I've seen that's close to a sled with tires is the Monster Sled from
monster-grips.com/Home_Page.php
I believed it was in the $200 - $300 range (too bad they've removed the price). I haven't seen any review on this sled, but I think somebody on this forum bought and reviewed the weight releasers from this same store.

I completely agree with this and we have to remember that bad pieces are gonna make it out of any manufacturer no matter how tight their quality control is. If a brand that has numerous glowing reviews suddenly provides a poor quality product to someone, it is more likely an anomaly than the norm.

I just found out about him a couple months ago. From the pictures Ive seen of some of his equipment and the prices he lists them for, they are great deals. I wouldnt buy a Power Rack or anything like that from him because Ill always buy those things used, but for stuff like Sleds and Landmines, He's probably the best option.

I have several of his equipment pieces. I have his deluxe GHR, a Reverse Hyper attachment for my rack, a brawler, a landmine, and several handle attachments for the landmine. I have also had or seen his rickshaw and a full size reverse hyper. I haven't had anything of his yet that I didn't like.
The only downside to his business is he hasn't gotten too deep into shipping yet. Apparently its working ok for him though. Heck, there is a pic of a guy that drove from Colorado to pick up one of Rick's reverse hypers....that's pretty hardcore!
I can't wait to get to his new place to look at his racks. He's just started putting those together and I'd really like to see what he's doing.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/spo/2865385453.htmlIt surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE
