    Sodium question

I have been cutting the past week, and I went from 203 starting Monday to 195 on Friday. I expected this extreme loss in weight initially due to water weight. However, Friday I ate probably no more than 1200 calories, although before I went to bed I ate Pickle spear, which I read had about 300mg of sodium in it. Throughout Friday I drank around 1-1.5 Gallons of water. Saturday morning I go to weigh myself, and the scale reads 202. Did my sodium intake absorb all the water I drank that day or what? If so is there a way to safely speed the process of urinating out the sodium

I can promise you that you did not gain 7 pounds from eating a pickle spear.

Gallon of water weighs about 8.35 pounds. Stop weighing yourself everyday you will drive yourself crazy.

Sounds like you need to learn about nutrition and keep better more consistent track of what you eat dude, sodium isn't an issue unless you have high blood pressure.

Oh and I have 4,000-4,500mg of sodium a day. I have probably 1,500mg before bed which is my highest carb meal of the day. Been in contest prep for 5 months, no water retention issues here...

I am not thinking that, but would sodium really be holding in that much water? And yeh I really should stop weighing myself every morning..
