They sent out letters for shotguns/rifles capable of holding 5 or more rounds. Owners are required to turn them in to the police, have them permanently modified so they cannot hold 5+ rounds (and provide proof in writing of this work from a gunsmith to the .gov), or sell it out of the city (and provide proof of transaction to .gov)

NYC law/regs already allow the .gov to show up to the residence of anybody with a registered firearm (and they all have to be registered, after receiving special permission to even have it) in order to check that it is there, storage condition, etc.

It's quite scary that they are able to do this.

Outright door to door confiscation (and probably imprisonment for breaking the law) based on the registry is obviously the next step.

Considering 3 Dems just got folded up and the mag ban repeal petition is getting signed like a request for a free Ferrari, I'd say we're in pretty good shape.

The Dems capitalized on a moment of weakness. That moment will not last, and Hickenlooper even said it would be wise to shut up about banning guns in CO. My only real concern is the influx of Californians.
