Ok, I realize theres some hits like Dirk and what not, but for the majority, it doesnt work out!
In the last 9 NBA drafts (not including this yrs!) from 2003 to 2010 there have been 11 International Players drafted in the Lottery and only 7 of them have played in at least 100 games over their career and the other 3 of the 4 have not played in a single NBA game! Only 5 of these 11 are current NBA Starters but only two of them are starters on the team that drafted them. Only 4 of these 11 players have a career average of at least 8 pts per game and only 2 (Bargnani and Gallinari) have a career average above 10 pts! BUT ZERO HAVE A CAREER AVERAGE ABOVE 15PTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLUS, with the lockout, all foreign players that have any sort of a name, are gonna be hit up by their home country, ie rudy fernandez.
plus theres no hype around foreign players. whos gonna sell more tickets? those mongrols that got taken early this year, or like a jimmer or kemba?

Kinda disappointed that we didn't choose AMERICAN athletes in the draft...it's really sad to see; these guys dedicate their whole lives to basketball and go undrafted. Meanwhile, wealthy Euro b-ball players, who are unproven, get an opportunity over them.
Fuk the NBA owners...I'd rather see Kemba or Jimmer play than Vesely, Valenciunas (or w/e), or whatever Euro *******. Sure there will be a Dirk or a Pau, but that's very rare.
Not black btw, just feel bad for a lot of these kids who definitely deserve an opp.

Foreign players have a different style game than Americans. As a GENERAL rule, Foreign players stay out of trouble and are not complaining about 10 million dollars. Foreign players can also be cheaper, since foreign salaries are nothing like the States. There are advantages and disadvantages to foreign players. If its the right chemistry for the right team, then there is no problem.

face it. The high flier be like Mike era is fading away. Too much selfishness. White american men are doomed in the NBA but so are african americans. The foreigners, south americans, africans, europeans and russians are gonna start flooding the nba draft. It all came to a clomax when Dirk won a championship and 2 weeks later the 1st round was dominated by foreigners. Next year it'll be even worse.

So you're telling me that there are going to be 5+ International guys who go in Round 1, again?
Simply you jest.
This is the deepest/most talented crop of NCAA draft prospects coming into a draft since 2003. You can argue that the talent level this year is deeper than 2003 although not as top heavy.
It just so happens that the talent level was so weak this year it allowed the Euros to creep into the Lottery. Only Motiejunas & Vesely were projected as Lottery picks at this time last year.A paradox.
