If it's someone who's constantly injured it would make a difference, but not if it's someone who just had a freak injury that will most likely not effect them in any way once they return.

Yea. For example with Amar'e, if it's only a temporary injury he can come back from, then it's no big deal (obviously). However, if he's out for the entire season and it affects the rest of his career, then his value will be lower. It's not just about winning this year but also in the next 2 or 3 years as well.
