This journal will chronicle my journey to a 1000 lb total in the big 3 and then whatever happens next. While it's just a number, I figure 1000 is a good milestone first goal and hopefully I can get there in 2016. Right now I'm sitting at approximately 895 lbs (depending on the end of this cycles dingles) I will still be following 531 (BLT mostly) and there will probably be some short Starr stints thrown in from time to time I'm sure. I'll also be upping the cardio a fair bit. I am coming up on my charity event season and this year I plan on doing a big run for Cancer research in a few months as well which is obviously near and dear to my heart right now.
inb4 the cardio haterz
Diet will be mostly the same with eating a lot to get stronger but not letting myself get too carried away so if I find I'm getting to fat for my liking I'll dial back a bit for 8 or 9 weeks and then repeat. I'm trying my best to continue to embrace the "it's not a race" mentality and not being in such a hurry to get nowhere. I'd say I've made some progress lately.
So with that being said I have 2 more weeks before my first round of BLT comes to an end and at that point I plan on running it again with my new 1rm numbers and see where I go from there.
Bench day coming up in a bit.

Well not off to a very good start. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Diet and sleep have not been good over the last few weeks. I need to get myself sorted out. Should have really left this one for another day.
BLT
Cycle 3 l Week 2
194.5
Bench
5 x 85
5 x 100
3 x 120
5 x 130
5 x 150
5+ x 170 - Got 6 - first indication that this was not going to end well
Dingle x 190 - went up fairly easily
Dingle x 200 - felt like a truck and nearly lost it - zero energy left.
I'm fairly confident if I had been eating better and of course other life problems weren't weighing on me I would've done better but at the end of the day those are still just excuses. Session was a fail. Got a couple reps at 160 after for my 5x5 and could barely move the bar. Warmed up for OHP and got a couple reps again. Just wasn't happening.
So basically kicking this off with a fail today but I'll get it back!!!
Time to focus!!!!365 255 480 in April! ...2019

Dave u faaker!! I had a nice warm spot reserved today way over there in that old delapitated, cobweb overgrown journal u had a long time ago
IN! Always!
Edit: ninja session!
No worries Dave, can't expect to kick azz after the emotional roller coaster u have been through. Few days of sleep and diet and u are rolling. And I disagree, you should not have left the session for another day man, you get right back to work and build from there. Great job bud and great to have u backLast edited by raynerd; 01-26-2016 at 07:18 PM.

Ah I know!! I went in all in my head too. It's all good. I know that would have been better under different circumstances. Focusing on some real grub now and getting myself sorted in my head. I also can go a good few months without seeing a restaurant I think now I think I've had maybe 5 home cooked meals all month or something close to that at least. I don't even want to look at my bank account lol
Had to add this in....after being away from home for so long and living out of hotels and restaurants mostly..chicken and potatoes with a bit of franks and sour cream has never tasted soooo good

That looks damn tasty. I know what u mean about eating at restaurants. My twins were preemies at 1.7lbs and 2lbs. They were at the old Women's College hospital for 2 1/2 months in your city when they were born. Wifey and I lived downtown at the Ronald MacDonald house for that time and ate every meal out. It was expensive and got old quick. Our favorite restaurant quickly became Frans as it had as close to home cooked meals as we could find.

It seems like it isn't a big deal until you do it. Add stress to it like you would have been dealing with and it starts to turn your stomach quick. God I was getting sick of crap out of a box or paper bag. I've got 2 packs of chicken defrosting right now and I'm hitting the grocery store hard tomorrow. I swear my wife lived off bacon and eggs while we were gone (actually sounds really good right now lol). Not a thing in the fridge

Excellent goal Dave. That is the same lifting goal I set for myself. I'll be following along with you and know that we'll both get there. I'll be continuing my little dance with 531 and Starr (can't leave out the Starr) along the way too.
It's good to have you back and hitting it hard in the journals. Now that your life and eating are getting back to normal I'm sure your lifts will get right back on track. If in doubt, squat and run hills. So you walk into the gym and don't know what to do? Then squat and run hills. Have a miserable day at work and want to break someone's neck but aren't sure who's? Then squat and run hills. - Wendler

Well you know that I am
Dingling BP first session back is probably not ideal TBH. Everything takes a bit of a hit after a break and porr diet etc, but for me BP more than most. Give it a week of gentling yourself back into it, and then give it some dingling madness is my advice.,
Like the new journal. Good name, good goal, good stuff. No full length pants please.☻/

Solid session Dave....no fail...all win....you had to get back to at some point....just look at it as a ramp up workout...shaken off the cobwebs and greasing the groove..
On that dinner plate....in Canada what are franks??? here that would be a hot dog....aka frankfurter"You got soul and everybody knows that its alright".....Curtis Mayfield........"Eat to be strong weights and reps"....Me....."leave the gun take the cannoli".....Fat Clemenza

194.6 - Not too bad. Feeling a bit more normal today too. Got a good grocery shop in and I'm all set for food to get me through the rest of the week and weekend at work.
I always look at my food pics and think it doesn't look nearly as good as on the plate lol. Some guys seem to have a talent for it like DNG. It was incredible though. Butter, sour cream, potatoes, chicken with franks red hot sauce...can't go wrong
I haven't done the math Greg but you must be there by now or at least very close with your big bench.
I was going to come back to a 9 week Starr session but decided against it. I've always found I burn out quickly on it and with all the added cardio I'll be doing over the next 3 or so months I'd rather save it for another time but I'm sure it'll make an appearance in here at some point. In the meantime I'm more than content to stick with BLT for another round or 2.
Taters are the food of the gods I could seriously live off of just potatoes.
Time to kick the cardio back up. I've got some big plans this spring so I need to get in better shape
Thanks H. I thought so too regarding the dingle but aside from just starting over from the beginning right now I decided to just go for it and see what happened. I guess I could have started over but I've got a big deadlift dingle to attempt next week and I'm not putting that off 3 more months. I've been patient enough
Thanks Steve. I hope I get it and I'm sure I will too. You're right in a way too. No real fail I guess but more disappointment. Had high hopes for the bench dingle session. Next time
Awesome.. thanks Brad!
Hey Ron, franks red hot sauce. I put it on the chicken We call hot dogs franks here too.
Cobwebs better be gone. Need a good one now for my morale365 255 480 in April! ...2019

60:20s
2 miles
21:55
This was a tough one today at first. Pretty cold out and I haven't done these in awhile. Took the first half pretty slow and then picked it up a bit. Felt like I was going to puke about half way through lol A few months ago I had this route down to less than 20 minutes How fast we slip out of shape.365 255 480 in April! ...2019

Count me IN for sure. 1000lb is a great goal. Best of luck.
One question....is 60:20s a 60 seconds sprint, 20 walk, or 60 walk, 20 sprint?☻/
