I have been bulking on 2600 calls a day, 300 over maintance in order to limit fat gain as my last bulk, 3000 callories led me to gaining more fat than muscle and then having to cut...
do you really limit muscle gain going clean that much...?

Will it limit muscle gain? Yes.
Will it limit a lot of muscle gain? Does it matter? At the rate we put muscle on, every bit is nice. Keep in mind as you increase your caloric intake the curve of muscle gain will slow down exponentially. You will gain much more on a 1k cal bulk over a 300 cal bulk, obviously with fat gains as well, but your strength will also go through the roof which will also aid in the muscle growth.
Its up to you. Can you handle some extra fat? Then bulk dirty as ****.
