Microwave, bake in foil, cut in fries and grill or pan fry or roast. Pretty much any way you'd cook a russet potato.
Ditch your meal plan and develop a diet that combines sound nutrition with the foods you enjoy by eating when you see fit in the portions that allow you to achieve your macronutrient and caloric needs while providing sufficient micronutrients, energy and satiety. One can never forget that nutrition is a tool, not a restraint; the enjoyment of life should always come first. Psychological, sociological and emotional health should never be threatened by the attempt to increase physiological health.

thanks. I always eat at this one place, they servce chicken breast with a sweet potato.

the potato comes in peel, cut in half, really juicy and sweet. i assume they bake it. I guess thats gonna take too long to do at home.

    just gonna microwave it.

Next time you go shopping look for sweet potatoes that come in a plastic wrapper. They're meant to be microwaved.
Otherwise, puncture 4 small holes in the potato and microwave for bout 7 minutes for a 8 ounce potato. 11 minutes for two.

This. Exactly this. Let sit 3-4 minutes after. They continue to cook a bit after microwaved which makes them softer and mushier, which is the way most restaurants seem to serve them.

If you like the potatoes a little more solid and less mushy like mashed potatoes, then do 5:30-6 minutes for an 8 ounce potato.

This is all on my 900 watt microwave on high, by the way.

Sweet potato's bake them for about 1-1.5 hours on 180 degrees farenheit, also they way you mentioned it in that place you were talking about, you slice a line down the top side of the potato and then put it in the oven no oil

    It is the same thing

I love to do a thin coat of olive oil, a bit of salt, and poke holes. Bake at 400*f - 45min-1hr. Poke with a knife for tenderness

Cut up and add a bit of cinnamon only and it is GREAT!

    try it

No they're not. Although yams and sweet potatoes are both angiosperms (flowering plants), they are not related botanically. Yams are a monocot (a plant having one embryonic seed leaf) and from the Dioscoreaceae or Yam family. Sweet Potatoes, often called ‘yams’, are a dicot (a plant having two embryonic seed leaves) and are from the Convolvulacea or morning glory family.

I like to bake mine. Another good thing I like to do is cut them into sweet potato fry size, dip each one in a coating of egg whites and oregano and bake them in the oven. It's very good
