Can you guys give me the years of these barbells I picked up? I put little notes in the pictures, the one bar has center knurling and roll pins holding the end cap on the sleeve. The other 2 bars have set screws for both the inner and outer cap/collars. Also some other York porn included in the pickup

Wow, you REALLY got a great score......
I think the bar that is stamped York and has the roll pins is from the 80's. I don't know enough about the others to be able to hazard a guess. I'd be interested to know more about the deep dish 45's that are sitting on top of that piece of equipment. I've never seen 45's that look like those.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

Finished painting my DD's. Rustoleum Satin Black.
Plate 1
Plate 2
After taking these pics I noticed a bubble on one of the plates that needed taking care of. You can see it at about 7 o'clock on the back of plate 2 just outside of the lathed area. The JB Weld either reacted with the foundry filler that was already there or I just didn't mix it well enough. It was soft and peeled up easily.
Now to sell them. My wife priced to ship them from her work and came back with ~$55 per plate. I would love to avoid shipping them but I don't think I will have much luck with my local market. What do you guys think? Should I put them up on e-bay with a "local pick up only" listing and see what happens? Any suggestions? Any takers?▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #52 ▪█─────█▪

Picked up these 25lb Super Duper prostyle x2 hardkore overly expensive York dumbbells today.
York Medial Grip Rubber Coated Pro Style Dumbbells 25lb (pair)
Part Number 26104
Your Price: $134.99
They are brand new. The knurling is very nice, almost on the aggressive side. A little too narrow on the inside though.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

The bumper plates are awesome. I'm currently trying to find some myself. I have never seen any that had kg and lbs on the same plate. Great score[II]---[II] Equipment Crew #49 [II]---[II]

Some "collectors" and dealers will tell you that only the 45s, 35s, and 25s were milled. They are wrong. All of the York Oly plate sizes could have been milled. York only did so if the plate exceeded tolerance for its stated weight. I suspect that plates used in competitions were more likely to be milled, but I can't prove that. You are more likely to find York Oly metric plates milled because York used molds similar to the pound plate molds and York had to mill the metric plates down to proper weight. I have yet to find a 1 1/4-kg plate that is milled, but I suspect there are some out there.
Milled 2 1/2 plates are hard to find, perhaps the hardest to find of milled York plates. Given their propensity to crack, I would guess that's part of the reason why. I suspect also, that the actual weight of an "overweight" 2 1/2-lb plate is minimal to its size. I have a pair. NDMike has a pair, as does Spinlock, along with others here.
BTW, nice auction, "ampeg21." Good luck with grad school back East. . . .You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Wow, I didn't realize that you two guys had pairs of milled plates as well. Hmmm, maybe that jack ass should lower the price on his auction.

1965, 1967 York Ads
In 1965, York was advertising deep dish Olympic sets:
By 1967, the thinner 45-lb Olympic plates were shown in York ads:

This is awesome Atty, seriously cool stuff! Is there any way to date the thinner milled plates as shown in the last ad? I didnt know they started making those in the 60's! Is there a way to tell the age of them?

Thanks to BigO and a friendly truck driver, these arrived for me yesterday. I'm digging the patina, wish all my others looked like these. Still needing an 85lb pair.
