What are those handles on your bar?

It's Dave Draper's Top Squat. I got a good deal on that as a used piece. My shoulders don't like me to squat in the usual way.

My wrists don't like it much so I understand. I usually use the cambered squat bar. I've got a safety squat bar, but the handles are short. I'll look into the Top Squat out of curiousity.

If those are York globes,myea they're worth it. Actually theyre probably worth it regardless of who made them.

They look like York. The price is worth it. Definitely.

For comparison, there are York globes on eBay, asking price is $270+ and those are for pairs of 50, 60 , 70.

That said, I'm not an expert but I believe 100lbs Roundheads are rare and can fetch upwards of $600, I imagine 100lbs globes are even more rare.

$3.00 a pound for roundheads is silly. Even $2.00 a pound is ridiculous, and yet guys are charging that much and paying that much. Globes easily go for $2 to $3 a pound and sometimes more. It makes more sense with globes.

That's what I thought but one of the members over at IH told me to keep an eye out for the 95s and above in RHs cause they go for big money. Sure enough there is a set of 100s on eBay for $600 and I think that's another IH member.

It's always gonna depend on the buyers well. I'm sure at this point you would go over market value if you found your 25kg bumpers cause they're one of your final pieces.

95s are harder to find than 100s. There are some guys charging $3 a pound for 100s and they are getting it. Too rich for me, even if they were the last piece to the collection. I've found too many good deals over the last year to pay that kind of money.

I just admired them from a distance mate. I like hex dumbbells. They give you that old caveman feel when you use them.

Those bent 100s were wild! Assuming the heads are still tight, it is possible to bend back the handles. I'm more of a roundhead guy, so the hex dbs don't do much for me.

The 50's do. Being from Canada almost was an exclusion (the Weiders were from Canada), but we're more open-minded than BoHo was back during the iron wars!

I have a set of those that came on my York ezcurl bar in the early 80's, the funny thing is that the bar never said York (even though it came in York packaging) just the collars. They are a hassle to use, but cool to have. They look really clean.

I have two sets from the Oly DB handles I picked up. I use one set holding 45's on my deadlift bar and just load the remaining plates on the outside of those.

That's a pretty cool idea because those clamps hold well when tightened down.

Yea I can warm up with 135 and then just add the rest as needed.

I posted pics of my nice York plates and stainless steel barbell in this thread here previously.

Today, I did the refurb on the junker plates I picked up with the barbell I cleaned up earlier in this thread.
I was also inspired by that nice black York collar, so decided to clean up some collars I have. They aren't York, but I work with what I got.

Is it silly that I think my next mini project will be to paint all my hex dumbbells black?

It's just that they don't really match color-wise currently, and BLACK is so kick ass.
Also, I have an extra can and a half of paint...so...
